Great songs and artists who virtually own them? Ncarv, I do get the point, but there are many songs that aren't "no brainers". For instance, some people prefer Jose Feliciano's version of "Light My Fire" to the Doors.
Great songs and artists who virtually own them? Very funny Audiophile, I should have elaborated. What I had in mind, when I initiated this thread, was more of an exploration of the standards which are performed by more than one mainstream artist, not so much the singles which are, and probably ...

Great songs and artists who virtually own them? Audiofeil, would that be Joey Heatherton and "Light My Fire"? Great songs but you didn't mention the artists who you believe own them.
Entry into HiFi My pleasure Notjohnnyv. Choosing an audio system is no less personal than choosing a girlfriend. It really is that subjective. That said, the speaker that keeps running through my mind is the "Totem Model 1". I didn't see one currently available b...
Great songs and artists who virtually own them? Vegasears,LOL - If we were giving away a prize for the most correct answer, you would win on technical merit. But we're not, so you're wrong laddy, you're just plain wrong.

Great songs and artists who virtually own them? Nina Simone - "Just like Tom Thumb's Blues" If anyone hasn't heard this one, trust me...Ballan, I too love Jeff Buckly's "Hallelujah", but can't agree that he wrestled it away from Leonard Cohen.
Entry into HiFi Exciting, isn't it! You have to get the speaker/room thing right. Oh heck! You have to get everything right - and it's hard; that's why we're all here. I would recommend hitting the pre-owned racks at some local dealers and home audition speaker/i...
What amps for Kef 104.2 It's been many years since I auditioned the 104.2s - very fond memories. I seem to recall them being paired with Bryston.
Top 5 Hamburgers All I can say is: this is a lot of "top 5" hamburgers
A major disconnect between the audiophile magazine Hi Sirspeedy, "What we've got here is a failure to communicate". I think we're trying to say the same thing: that it's not technology per se, but its application that determines its worthiness. I'm confident that if engineers are tasked to use all...
A major disconnect between the audiophile magazine "In general, technology gets better all the time and not worse."Mapman's statement is unarguable. But that isn't to say that the application of technology always results in a better product. While technology is advancing the state of the art, it s...
Anything about liquid polymer cables? Thanks Sonic, I wasn't very clear above. My questions pertain to cables with liquid conductors, not solid conductors suspended in liquid.
Which components knocked you out on first listen? For me, knockout power is correlated to the difference of actual performance over anticipated performance. The EMM Labs CDSA knocked me out. |
