NAD C372 versatility?
I echo the remarks of Akg-ca. In the past, I owned the 162/272 combo; now I own the 375. Turn the soft clipping switch to off. Turn the tone controls off. Replace the pre-to-power jumpers with ICs. Replace the stock PC. This will take your 372 to ...
Magnepan SMGa owners, is this experience typical?
The Boston Acoustics speakers I own are actually the A400's and not the A200's. This doesn't change my experience with the SMGa's at all, but I do feel like an idiot.
Top 5 Hamburgers
I need to spend more time on this thread. As far as I'm concerned, if a restaurant can't make a good burger, there is no since in ordering anything else on the menu.If you're in the Lexington, KY area looking for a good burger, you'll need to chec...
Magnepan SMGa owners, is this experience typical?
Schubert, yes I have the A200's against the wall and the SMGa's about 8 feet out from the wall. Thanks for the comment on the re-capping of the crossovers; I think I may look into that. Do you recall the electronics you used with the A200's?
I need a reputable repair technician
Buconero, thanks for your response. I didn't see your response, otherwise I would have responded sooner. As I continue to learn about audio equipment, I'm learning that system synergy in the design and manufacturing is just as important as the syst...

ZD, thanks for your response. Some of the biggest improvements in my systems over the years have been the result of changes to the preamp. In this particular case, however, I would have expected the sound of both sets of speakers to improve. And, I...

Getting great stereo sound from multi channel sys.
Cdxskier, I'm going to take a step back and take a different approach. First, welcome to the forum! Second, your comments indicate that you don't have any equipment yet so I'm going to assume that you are building a system. When building a system, ...

From the Blue Jeans Cable website with respect to the owner's philosophy..."Our objective is to provide you with professional-grade cabling for your home audio and video components, without all the hype and pseudoscience sometimes associated with ...
Getting great stereo sound from multi channel sys.
I find it a bit curious that those endorsing option 1 are not also commenting on the op's choice of speakers. The GoldenEars seem to me to be an odd choice for someone who wants to maximize 2 channel stereo performance.
Tube DAC with solid state pre and solid state amp
To answer your question directly, no. If I were going to throw tubes in to the mix, I think I'd do it the other way around: a tube pre and keep the DAC SS.Tgrisham, I'm assuming you run the EE minimax through the tube output stage. What effect doe...
5 Favorite Concerts
Take Six opened for BeBe and CeCe Winans at Kings Island in the early 90s. I've never seen so many musicians have so much fun all at the same time and on the same stage. Three gospel singers who happened to be in the audience were invited to join ...

I'd call CC Poon at Monarchy and ask him.
Power Cables diminishing returns
"$2000 power cord actually has no more than total of $50 material + work."Czarivey, where exactly can I purchase the raw material for a MSRP $2000 cable for only $50? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would be interested in this info.My simple lit...
