Audio equipment and cars...enthusiast thread... I love to tinker with mys stereo and I'm also looking to buy a 1960 Comet to restore. As far as I'm concerned what you say is truePete
For Magnepans try the "Rooze" comfiguration The last time I heard 901's was at a friends apartment before my audio days. If 901's sound anything like the Rooze maggie setup I defintly need to buy a pair of 901's.The best sound I have gotten out the MMG's before this was to put them in the c...

I'm blown away by the Sonic Impact tripath amp. Slappy,I owned the Adire HE10.1 for a month. I returned them. I didn't think they sounded that great.I'm hearing alot of talk about the Omega Super 3's. I haven't heard them though.Pete
I'm blown away by the Sonic Impact tripath amp. Gmood1,I definantly would like to hear your Clari T. Come on up anytime.I heard that Sonic Impact is coming out with a version 2 of the T amp. It should be out this summer.Pete
I'm blown away by the Sonic Impact tripath amp. twl,The speakers I am using are some MB Quart QLSP44XL and a cheap Sony DVD Player of yesteryear. I bought the MB Quarts of of Ubid.com about four years ago for about $200 brand new. It's a strange speaker. I emailed MB Quart about them and they'v...

Small speakers for a small room Hi,I would like to recommend Source loudspeakers. I have the 1.5WV. It is an outstanding speaker and very transparent. It has an L pad on the back which is a Godsend when it comes to room compatability. http://sourcetechspeakers.comPete
GMA Europa discontinued? Two words of of advise from a customer Roy. Make your speakers more visually appealing and don't abandon the sub $1000 market. Better yet, design a sub $500 speaker for us poor audiophiles.
GMA Europa owners, what amps do you use? Thanks for the kind words Roy but Suits_me has it right. I love to listen loud as the evening wears on. With a first child on the way in two weeks I think the loud, alcohol induced, listening is going to simmer down and the quite listening/diaper ...
GMA Europa owners, what amps do you use? I used a Vecteur Club Six to power my Europas. At 60 WPC it wasn't nearly enough and I blew a tweeter. According to Roy you should have at least 120 solid state watts or 60 tube watts to drive the Europas properly.
What integrated amp under a grand is your favorite I like my Ideal Innovations Custom 30 for $600.
Speakers to consider in the $2200 range I would recommend Source Technologies as Sedona did. They are incredible speakers. Of course, Magnepans are a must listen. My MMG's are the only pair of speakers that I've owned that I will never sell. You can get the 1.6QR's new and save some cash.
Swan Diva Speakers My 2.1's sounded terrible. Very harsh and break in didn't help. I returned them after two weeks. I got sucked in by the great looks.
compact bookshelf speaker for my system I would suggest the Source Technologies 1.5WV. They are great sounding monitors with a tweeter attenuator on the back. |
