Monoblocks for Sonus Faber Guarneri ?
My Guarneri's are from 2001, and I'm not the owner of the Graafs.Monoblocks, because my speakercables (Kharma Grand Ref) are only 1 meter long.....Do you feel the LAMM M1.1 blocks are overkill for these speakers ?
Best CDP isolation device you use?
Symposium Rollerblocks (balls down) on Svelte shelf
other singers like Patricia Barber.....
If you don't mind the Norwegian language: try Kari Bremnes.
Audioquest - What did their "x3" designation mean?
As far as I know the x3 means that the cable has 3 identical conductors, which makes it perfectly suitable for balanced use (with XLR-plugs).
Thiel or Sonus Faber??...Need help please
I have very good results with the Guarneri's in combination with the SF Gravis subwoofer.
Looking for a great XLR Digital cable
Try Kharma Enigma....great stuff !
New to tubes-what the heck does NOS mean?
NOS means new old stock: new tubes produced mostly 30 to 40 years ago (before the transistor-age).
Tube Rolling in a SF Line 3
After changing the significant pair of tubes, you can add a tunable tweak: try a pair of Shun Mook tube resonators.By rotating these ebony caps you can choose for extra warmth or focus. Great stuff !
Tube Rolling in a SF Line 3
Changing the 6HG8A pair will have little effect. The biggest sonical improvement can be made by swapping the last pair of 6922's (at the rear of your amp). This was a suggestion of Kevin Deal from Upscale Audio; the guy is an expert on tubes and So...
Vertical Bi-amp using 2 power amps v mono blocks
Hi Mike,I have excellent results with four Monarchy Audio SM70's (class-A, bridged as monoblocks).Every amp is driving one unit of my two-way speakers (Sonus Faber Guarneri).Best regards,Peter B
SF Line-3, Trans 3, Dac 3 - house tube sound
Hi Mike,I use Amperex 7308 on the rear pair only. With a pair of Shun Mook small valve resonators on them, you can tune the sound to your taste (warmth vs. speed).Another suggestion: place your Line 3 on Symposium Rollerblocks.Good listening,
Any comments on Walker High Def Links???
I am using one pair of the HDL's (first version) on the high inputs of my SF Guarneri's and really love them.Recently discovered that the Mk2 version have copperfoil shielding. So I have made cages of 0.5 mm copperplate (bent from one piece) aroun...
Digital Dilemma
It's more simple than you think....There is only one option: to use the coax output of your CDP. Is this RCA or BNC ?
Is AT&T a Good digital cable connection ?
Swampwalker is right, ST-glass is much much better than TosLink. The implementation of AT&T sender and receiver-units are rather expensive....but the results are quite special (at least to my ears).
Is AT&T a Good digital cable connection ?
I have excellent experiences with the Translite ST-glass cable. This is not an ordinairy computer based cable, but dedicated to audio use. In my system it was slightly better than the MIT Reference XLR and the top Nirvana RCA and XLR.With optical ...
