need opinions on cdp with built in volume control up to $2000 The solid state output sounds more dynamic w/my present amp and clearer. I noticed it w/my present amp but not other tube amps I had where I would often run it in tube output for some recordings. I owned the 306/200 prior to this and it had no t...
need opinions on cdp with built in volume control up to $2000 One of my local friends has a CD500 and it sounds great in his rig (Cary 300sei and Coincident speakers) but I've never heard it in my system. He's had the laser replaced once too. That's probably the player I would go for if mine croaks. I hav...
need opinions on cdp with built in volume control up to $2000 any of the Cary CD players w/built in volume control but I warn that they all eventually need new laser drives which is not hard to replace yourself. 306/200, 303/300, 303/200 and some of the newer models they all sound great.
Thiel CS2.4 to what? I owned 2.4's shortly after they were introduced. Ran them w/all the "right stuff", Pass Labs X250 & X pre, great CDP, all Cardas Golden cabling, etc. They were great on well recorded material but hard to listen to on most recordings. Afte...

Mega amps - low IMP speakers, where is all this headed and why Agreed Jim. A hard expensive lesson that took me quite awhile to figure out. The rest of my life will be with spent w/tubes & reasonably efficient, easy to drive speakers. Thinking back to the early 90's I had a system with Klipsch Chorus s...

Anyone heard Cary 303/300 after 400 hours burn-in? George I could swear I remember hearing or reading the 303/200 didn't have a volume control & I was told the 303/300 & 306/200 had analog volume controls but I'm not a tech person just a music lover. Anyway at some point I'll have to do s...
Anyone heard Cary 303/300 after 400 hours burn-in? You're right George that is a great player however if I'm not mistaken it doesn't have the internal analog volume control which is why I like the 303/300. I owned the 306/200 way back which had the same DAC which was great but stupidly sold it to...
Anyone heard Cary 303/300 after 400 hours burn-in? Hey skibrain1 - go to Cary Audio website at top go to "Support" then "Product Support" and you can download owners manuals for any of their past or present models. I'm still using my 303/300 although awhile back I had to change out the laser driv...

Your favourite 2017 album.? Marty Stuart "Way out West" is excellent. Produced by Mike Campbell of the TP & Heartbreakers. I hear a lot of the Byrds influence, great pickin. Never been much of Marty Stuart fan either.
Best Drum Solos reminds me of a joke my musician friend (great guitarist/record store owner) told me years ago. "You know why a sneeze is like a drum solo?" "No, why?" "You know they're both coming but you can't stop them" |
