What is the future for Proac Speakers ?
First time Proac user here, I'm trying the db1, fantastic speakers, I'm now seriously looking at the d30r. I cannot believe it took me this long to try Proac, I'm a longtime Dynaudio fan but after 17 years, I'm ready to make a change ( although I'...
Dynaudio C-4 or Revel Salon 2
On the issue of amplifier power, I've heard the c4's on a 90 watt tube amp and a 350 watt SS amplifier. No contest, the higher powered solid state amplifier delivered superior bass, control and dynamics and sounded better and more detailed on lowe...
Jbl Project Array 1400 vs dynaudio c1 speakers
I wouldn't consider the jbl array an upgrade in the midrange and highs department, I think a better option would be to keep the c1 and add a pair of subs for more attack and scale.
For those who "sold" Dynaudio Evidence speakers
The Sapphire's had that top to bottom neutrality that I found so endearing from my audition of the Temptations, along with excellent driver integration. The midrange was excellent but a touch veiled (only obvious compared to something like a Focal...
Eggleston Works vs Dynaudio
I love these two brands, EW is resolved, warm, forgiving, dynamic, very musical Dynaudio is drier, more neutral, with a very listenable midrange that's different from EW but great all the same
Integrating subwoofer with Merlin TSM
Email Bobby palkovic thru the merlin website, he can give you tips on how to do it properly, btw congrats on the TSM, I like this speaker a lot
Good partner amp for Egglestonworks Anda II
Thanks for all the suggestions, one thing I'm convinced of now is that they do need lots of power, does anybody have any thoughts on class d amplifiers, any brands out there have synergy with Eggleston house sound?
Good partner amp for Egglestonworks Anda II
Thank you both for your responses, either high power or high current appears to be the ticket,Kurt, I've heard the lamms with VR-5s and I think that set-up sounded phenomenal unfortunately i think lamms as much as i would like them are just too mu...
Dynaudio C1 + Mcintosh 275 amp, do they match?
I've lived with a Mcintosh 275 and C1 for the better part of a year, I would say the 275 drove the Dynaudio adequately in terms of dynamics and bass but ideally I think the c1 really does need double that, around 150 watts> to really start cook...
PSB Synchrony One or Usher Mini Dancers?
Well I haven't heard them side by side but i have heard them separately, I preferred the PSB, it was more neutral in it's tonal balance, it was very articulate and could separate musical information very distinctly. The Ushers sounded slightly mor...
Dynaudio C1 vs C2
Mr_billYup, it actually surprised me, it was warmer, more syrupy in the top end
Dynaudio C1 vs C2
Actually I've heard them side by side and in my opinion, the c2 has an even smoother treble response than the c1 ( ie rolled-off ). I liked it but I'm sure there are some recordings where I would look for that missing treble energy, the upside is ...
Dynaudio Audience 52SE vs. Contour S1.4
I've had the 1.4 then upgraded to the 3.4 and now the c1 and heard the 52 but not 52se but unless the 52se is a radical improvement the 1.4 is better, cleaner highs, bigger sound, better imaging, the 1.4 is pretty much high end level, not quite re...
Jeff Rowland Capri preamp
Well, I've had the Capri for over a year now, for me thats pretty long ( the next longest serving component is the cd player at 6 months ), every other component from the interconnects to the speakers have been upgraded but the Capri is staying fo...
No Audiophiles in Hollywood
Dark Knight had beolab speakers in the penthouse/apartment scene, the 2008 horror movie Shutter had Meridien speakers in the guys apartment.
