Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Rebbi. Now that some time has passed, do you have any last thoughts on MWT's? You had mentioned that they don't give up much to the 100's. I'm just wondering what you think now.Hope all is well with your family!-P
Some irrefutable truths about rock and roll
Seriously though, this whole thing about the Beatles vs anyone else is amusing and boring at the same time. They simply cannot be taken out of the context in which they came from. There was a lot of great music by many great bands during that era....
Some irrefutable truths about rock and roll
Marty. It's obvious. 'Freebird' is the greatest rock song ever.(just kidding)
How far, how much?
If a speaker can't reproduce all genres of music well, then it's not an accurate speaker.A person may prefer it, but all it means is that for some reason that person prefers not to hear accurate reproduction.
Speaker recommendations for death metal...
Any speaker that is good for music is good for Death Metal. I love Cerwin vega. They were perfect for Skynyrd when I was in high school with a cheap Craig 8-track player. They're probably perfect for parties by the pool or the back porch. You have...

Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Yeah. The $300 is what will make me have to wait...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Ok Rebbi and fellow posters-I'm feeling Ohm-sick. I just sold my Definitive BP-2006TL theater package to a grateful buyer and am using my old Pinnacle Classic Gold References. I have a little cash towards my purchase. But I keep going back-and-for...
Hi-End for Black Metal?
Ironmine- what you described in your last post is a perfect description of the band Agolloch. If you have not heard them, you owe it to yourself to do so.By the way- without the intellect, there can be no aesthetic appreciation. They are not contr...
Hi-End for Black Metal?
Mapman- good to see you on this thread. For myself, I have a hard time with Black Metal. I want to like it, but most of it that I've heard is pretty bad. Map- Porcupine Tree flirts with metal as much as they do with Pink Floyd and King Crimson. If ...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Thanks Rebbi!So- any thoughts on the 100's vs. the MWT's? I think the Talls would work for me best in nearfield listening- but I personally have a hard time letting go of the deeper bass that I understand the 100's deliver.
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
I have my own minor update. My wife just spoke to me about my pending speaker decision, and asked me if I'd made my mind up yet- the Talls or the 100's. After describing what I know about both, she thinks the 100's are a 'no-brainer'. Now I just n...
Emotiva or stick with my Anthem??
Agreed.Andthem is probably a bit out of my price range anyway. There should be some decent choices in between Emotiva and Anthem- thankfully it's not an either-or situation.
Emotiva or stick with my Anthem??
I think your dislike of Audioholics is why I like them. They are an extreme opinion, to be sure, but they tend to balance my opinions and keep my wish-list somewhat down to earth. Tom Andry has said some horrible things about Anthem and their room...
Who's your guitar daddy now?
John McGlaughlin. I've been listening to the Mahavishnu Orchestra a lot lately. Even after the 10th listen in a week, McGlaughlin still stuns me.
