Best AV receiver to use as an AV pre amp Snofun3, maybe you are the one who should read the OP's original request. Very first sentence. I have cut and pasted as follows: "I want to get another AV receiver, but I want one that has a really good pre section in it so I can also use it well ...
Personal speaker evolution Here is my progression starting with my first pair...1. KLH Model 382. Avid 1023. ADS L520 - Still have them in a secondary system and they are in pristine condition. Love 'em!4. Wharfedale Diamond 9.65. Vienna Acoustics Bach Grands - currently th...
Best AV receiver to use as an AV pre amp Dallyd, sorry for your frustration but I believe there is a misconnect in this thread. It of course started by you asking for an AVR with a preamp section for 2 CHANNEL MUSIC. So, some of us suggested that you consider a 2 channel PREAMP with HT B...
inserting 2 channel preamp Suggestions? How much do you want to spend? There are dozens of models to improve your 2 channel listening with an AVR. Consider a 2 channel preamp with an HT Bypass feature but you'll need a separate 2 channel power amp for the L/R mains if you g...
Best AV receiver to use as an AV pre amp I agree with Zd too. Sadly, the 2 channel preamp sections in most AVR's are an afterthought - they were designed for multi channel use with their room correction facilities. Not stereo music. I have yet to hear an AVR in "pure direct" mode that I ...
Getting into vinyl for the first time, need help Welcome to the world of vinyl. $800 you say? No problem. Look at the new Pro-ject Carbon that comes equipped with an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge at $400. Add the optional Speed Box II that really will tighten up the bass and make for easy changing of...
VPI traveller vs Project rm5.1 vs second hand VPI? Welcome to the hobby. If $1500 is your combined budget for an amp & speakers, no sense in looking at a used VPI model higher than a new VPI Traveler at $1300. Also, being new to the hobby, I would strongly suggest new rather than used. A turnt...
Wharfdale Diamond - Pleb Audiophile speaker? Wow, dressed up white van speakers? Wharfedale - Britains oldest loudspeaker manufacturer? Thats a little harsh. If you didn't care for the way they sounded, fine. But I certainly wouldn't call Wharfedale Diamond 10 series white van speakers! The D...
Opinions on 4 Integrateds Thanks Dayglow. Sounds like the Creek will not have what it takes; the Music Hall not up to quality standards. I appreciate the opinion you gave on the on the Arcam earlier as that was on my list. I'll have to research the others you mention and h...
Speakers for Musical Fidelity M6i If it was a lack of bass weight, then do try and lsietn to the Synch 1's. Also, I would strongly encourage you to seek out and listen to the Vienna and Dynaudio models I recommended. You just may be surprised at the bass weight these speakers are ...
Opinions on 4 Integrateds Thank you all for your valued input regarding opinions on some of the 4 integrated amps I sited. It was good hearing about the Arcam and Marantz models. Does anyone have any thing to share about the Creek Evolution 5350 SE and especially the Music...
Attn Vinyl lovers - what CD Player do you use? I have an Arcam FMJ CD17. It is very detailed and articulate but opposite of my vinyl rig. Lacks warmth and it is harder to make an emotional connection to the music with it. But for some recordings, this CD player does serve its purpose.
Speakers for Musical Fidelity M6i Very nice amp. You'll have no problems driving just about anything out there. So suggesting something would be difficult as all speakers sound different and what sounds good to us, may not sound good to you.So lets start here. What was it you like...
Reason for selling is... If I saw an item from a private seller, the last thing I would think is that it didn't sound good in their system and they don't like it.At the time they bought it, it sounded fabulous and they loved it!!!Time goes on, and you simply outgrow it, g...
improving music You're welcome Wmbode. I understand that the HK990 is a beast and can be integrated into an HT setup with no problem. I am not sure about CA's though - I never seen power amp inputs on their Azur line before. Unless the model you are talking about... |
