integrated or separates...on a $1200 price point? As it's been almost 6 years since the OP asked for suggestions, I wonder if he is still looking?
Audio advisor and Constellation amplifiers Nor would I. Parasound is fine gear and delivers tremendous value. But to some, value isn't even a consideration. From the looks of this thread, it seems that where you buy is just as important as what you buy. Gee, I bought my Viennas from Ma...
Speaker Recommendations for my Vintage Marantz 2270 and Miracord 50H MK II Yes, I seen this too. But the fact that this receiver puts out the same amount of power into 4 ohms as it does 8 ohms tells me it has a very limited power supply. A 4 ohm speaker could suck the life out of this receiver in a hurry. Most modern ...
Speaker Recommendations for my Vintage Marantz 2270 and Miracord 50H MK II Are you looking to match your vintage receiver with vintage speakers? Or are you just asking for recommendations, new or used, that would match well with your Marantz 2270?If the latter, then know your receivers limitations. Unlike todays amps t...
New reference Marantz compared to McIntosh I see this thread has been resurrected. FWIW, I audition my Marantz PM15S2 for several hours against a McIntosh MA6300 that was approximately the same output into a pair of Sonus Faber Cremona loudspeakers. I walked out of the store with the Mar...
Best speakers for $3000 The OP now has 17 suggestions on his short list. And we do not even know what kind of amp he has or if it could properly drive any of what has been suggested.Buying a speaker this way is akin to selecting a vacation destination while blindfolded ...
Best turntable And cartridge for Rega Brio R The best TT & Cartridge is any TT and MM cartridge that the Brio's phono stage can handle and most important, sounds best to you!Cartridges, like speakers, are transducers with all brands sounding different from one another. So they are highl...
Best speakers for $3000 I would look for the speaker that your amp can properly drive, is within your budget and most important - sounds best to you. But you really insist on my recommendation to add the growing list above, I'll be happy to give it you.
VPI Traveler and Lyra Delos I disagree with the others.I know a guy who runs a Delos on on Pro-ject 9CC tonearm, part of a $1200 Pro-ject turntable. It sounds awesome through his system and he is very happy. I don't see why the 10.5" gimbaled bearing arm on the Traveler c...
What turntable to start out with ? Pioneer PLX-1000 or VPI Nomad These are really two different TT's. The VPI has a built-in phono stage and headphone amp, so in this regard it is far more portable but designed for a single user. It does have the capability though of beiong installed into a system using anot...
Vincent sv-237 or Rogue Cronus Magnum II Seems to me you already answered your question. You auditioned the Cronus Magnum and said it sounded wonderful. So why are you second guessing yourself?Trust your own ears as it sounds like you found the right amp for you.
Best gain setting on phono pre- low/medium/high? Thanks. Your cartridge has an output of 0.4 mV so I would use the 56 or 66 db gain settings and see what sounds best. Even though your cartridge is a low output MC, it isn't that low to consider the 76db setting.
Parasound P/PH 100 verses NAD pp2 or Rotel RQ 970 Can you give us the model number of the Signet so we may know its specs. This will be important for the best match with a used phono stage.
Best gain setting on phono pre- low/medium/high? Nothing to do with the three bears. There is a an exact reason why your phono stage has three gains settings. What's your cartridge and specifically is it a MM or a MC? Also, what phono stage do you have because a min of 56db is pretty high for...
Parasound P/PH 100 verses NAD pp2 or Rotel RQ 970 The lack of replies may be due to no one having these exact phono stages to give you a meaningful answer. Also, since they are all discontinued, we do not know why you want to know. So time to rephrase the question.Do you currently have them and... |
