New Technics 1200
I'm wondering what Audiogoners think would be the  next best thing [other than buying a used 1200 MkII] as far as the closest equivalency in quality and performance in currently production turntables? Examples are the Pioneer PL1000X, the Stanton ...
Speaker recommendations
An amp will seldom overpower a speaker.  In fact, blown speakers or poor speaker performance is usually the result of underpowering them.  More power is always a good thing. If the sound is not as bright as you would like, then it is the speaker th...
BARNES & NOBLE HAS VINYL!!!!! BUT IS THE QUALITY UP TO AUDIOPHILE STANDARDS ????
These are all new reissues of classic titles.  So your question is really are these reissues up to audiophile standards? Some sound good, some sound awful.  IMO, most do not sound as good as a pristine copy of an original pressing.  Or original aud...
Speaker recommendations
This is such a broad question I wouldn't know where to begin.  Other than suggest that you identify what it is about your existing speakers that you object to, and go out and audition some that don't have these characteristics and sound better to ...
Rogue Cronus Magnum ll with Harbeth 7 speakers
Your speakers have an impedance of 6 ohms and can be safely driven off the 8 ohm taps.  I would set them for 8 ohms and be done with it.
Go back to the original
Glad you found gear that works well for you.The rest of us may have very different tastes.  Enjoy your cruise!
Integrated recommendation help
You have a nice pair of speakers kielecki and at 6 ohms, 89db sensitivity, a very wide range of integrated amps will properly drive them.So what is really needed here is budget in order to get a meaningful and realistic suggestion.  Or else you'll...
Advice on Phono Cartridge
The compliance rating of a cartridge refers to its suspension or "springiness" while playing a record with mass bearing down on it.  In this case, the mass is the tonearm.  Years ago most cartridges were high compliance as low mass tonearms (like ...
Advice on Phono Cartridge
Go with the Ortofon 2M Blue as it's compliance is a much better match for the Pro-ject tonearm that is pretty low mass.  The Denon is way too low in compliance and would result in a unwanted resonance of around 17 Hz.  Also the Denon is a low outp...
record show experiences
Why were you there?I go to about 6-8 shows per year (two different circuits) and always enjoy and get amused by the experience. IMO, there are three types of attendees..1. Newbies getting into vinyl buying just about every cheap copy of classic ro...
Need New MM Cartridge Recommendation
Thanks Rauliruegas.  I am pleased that you agree with my post.  I still vote joke.  I like to give the benefit of doubt.  Besides, ignorance is too harsh a word.
Need New MM Cartridge Recommendation
MM cartridges for box speakers,  MC for panels. This post must have been aimed at humor rather than fact.  Make an emphatic statement but provide no explanation as to why it is so.  Posts like these are usually jokes or classic cases of hit and run...
Need New MM Cartridge Recommendation
The Nagaoka MP-500 could be found for $699 new.  About the same as the OP's other choices.http://www.lpgear.com/product/NAGAOKAMP500.html
Need New MM Cartridge Recommendation
The compliance rating of the cartridge and its compatibility with your tone arm to avoid unwanted resonant frequencies must be taken into account too. I assume your Radius has the Roksan Nima tonearm. If so, its effective mass is 10 grams making i...
