Recommendation Lindley/Ry Cooder I saw Lindley with Warren Zevon around 81. He is a great studio musician that never got his due!
Music you would like to turn someone on to. Stan Ridgway and Chris Whitley are 2 of my favorites that are not greatly known in the mainstream. Alot of other stuff which I like, but not all of their music.

Modern day equivalent of KEF 104.2s? I might be off in left field on this, but I listen to generally the same type and other tyoes of music and I would look to trying Metal Driver Technolgy speakers like Acoustic Energy AE-1's or similar speaerks as they excel in transparency and Bass...
Transparent's Network Boxes I cannot get past adding a network to cables as that ingest something which over rides the purity of the signal. Living in Maine I have heard their wires and am not impressed for teh price.www.nearsota.com

Helping a friend put together a sub-$1000 system For an amp try one of the new Digital amps. People are raving about the JVC's and Panisonics. The JVC can be bought for as little as $180 I think.Get a Philips 963 if you can. Here is a system I put on paper awhile back.JVC Digi AMp $180 J&R's...
Cables and Loud Hum Well using unsheilded wires are better to use ,but there are those times when interference creates problems.Sometimes hum can be due to the Transformers in the amps we use. If you can get away with not using sheilding it is always better for home ...

B&K 200.2 OR Rotel RB-1080? I feel that B&K is a slightly better Co. and have owned both in the form of Amps and Pre's.That is as detail as it gets because unless there is a synergy issue that's what I have experienced.I stay away from NAD because they have poor build qu...
Phono stage and preamplifier opinions.... IMO it is always best to go seperates when possible. You could buy a Hagerman Phonostage and just add it to the Forte if that does everything right for you.I have a slew of items I need and want and there are several cost effective Phono Satges yo... |
