Since we have gone into deep waters here, can anyone recommend any didgeridoo?
Shirley Bassey is realy something
In regard to John Barry and James Bond music, did Shirley Bassey make John Barry famous. When you hear "Gooldfinger" do you think of John Barry or Shirley Bassy? When you hear "Diamonds are Forever", do you think of Shirley Bassey or John Barry? O...

For "Audiophiles" only. Before I came to "Agon" I knew I was an Audiophile, now I'm not so sure. While I've spent 30 years listening to tubes, capacitors and interconnects in the past; now I listen exclusively to music. The reason I mention this is...

This is the best thread on the music forum in ages. Can anyone compare "The Astounding Eyes of Rita" with any of "Rabih Abou Khalil's" works?
Grant Green suggestions
Qdrone, could you name the stuff to avoid, I would like to buy it.
Grant Green suggestions
Qdrone, this is about Grant Greens music; it wasn't necessary for us to know about Grant Greens habit.
All things Bill Evans.
Bill was a man of many different sounds. This is something some of his fans seem to be unaware of. I was listening to "Blues and the Abstract Truth", which is an album by Oliver Nelson, and I heard this beautiful piano. I guessed "Sonny Clark", bu...
All things Bill Evans.
Foster_9, thanks for the "heads-up" on Coltrane. I can't seem to type and spell at the same time.In regard to "Portrait in Jazz" and "Sunday at the Village Vangaurd", they were recorded 17 years before "Affinity". Bill, like any great artist, made...
All things Bill Evans.
While it's important to have the ability to speak, it's even more important to have the ability to listen; Bill had that ability. He always heard everyone he played with.Although I had heard Scott LaFaro before, only recently is the first time I r...
All things Bill Evans.
Bill was playing with the big boys a long time ago. On the 58 Miles sessions, you have Bill, Trane, Cannonball, Paul Chambers bass and Jimmy Cobb drums. This is as good as it gets for my money, and Bill held it all together. The stars take the sol...
Grant Green's version of 'Round About Midnight
I like Wes Montgomery's version even better. "The Wes Montgomery Trio", recorded in 1959 is the one. Since that one might be hard to find, I'll consider the one by Grant to be a tossup.

Alexatpos, "Face" had one hit record. It came out in 63 ot 64. It was on Blue Note, and I don't remember the name of the record. Could you give me a list of what's available in Europe. Grant loved Face like a brother.
Grant Green suggestions
Something is very wrong, and I don't know if it's me or Blue Note. I have known about Grant Green all my life, yet I only became aware of those gems he made in the 60's after his death; while everyone was made aware of the commercial recordings he...
