are audiophiles different than non audiophiles ? Unfortunately, I have never even met a "classical" musician. It's possible they have different lifestyles from jazz and rock musicians. Since that was a long time ago when I hung out with jazz and rock musicians, a lot has changed, and I wrote fro...
are audiophiles different than non audiophiles ? Stereophile ran a series where they interviewed famous musicians. Branford Marsalis, Tony Bennett, and John Lee Hooker are three that I remembered. Branford had Herron Audio, which is top notch, John Lee had all Kenwood, and Tony's rig was in a be...
are audiophiles different than non audiophiles ? I have never met a professional musician, who would fall into the audiophile category. That's a peculiar contradiction.
are audiophiles different than non audiophiles ? The music is much more important than the equipment for me. It is because of the music that I have the equipment.
are audiophiles different than non audiophiles ? An audiophile, from Latin audio[1] "I hear" and Greek philos[2] "loving," is a hobbyist who seeks high-quality audio reproduction via the use of specialized high-end audio electronics.[3][4] Audiophiles prefer to listen to music at a quality level...

ESS and Heil air-motion tranformer - any thoughts? Lrsky, I identified this same problem with the two way. For me, the 3D sound of the tweeter was too good to pass up; so good, that I built 3way speakers using the ESS Heil air-motion transformer. With the help of an engineer to design the crossove...
Drop-outs I had the same identical problem just before my hardrive went bad. I suggest you make a back up file just in case.
Best TT for the buck? Adam18, your rig is equal to rigs costing much more.
Art Blakey, king of the drums. Adam18, while all of Blakey's different groups were consistently good, they were also very different. Which one was the best depends on your mood when you're listening to it. With me, which ever Blakey I'm listening to at the time, was the best.
Affordable speaker cable or..... I want to compliment you on the Primaluna, good choice. Sorry I can't advise on cable; however I suggest NOS RCA 12au7's for the Primaluna to compliment the Mullard's. The stock 12ax7's are very good as they are. Happy listening.
Best TT for the buck? So many of these suggestions totally disregard the minutiae involved in getting good sound out of a rig. Cartridge, tonearm, TT compatibility; not to mention the precision that must be involved in cartridge setup. This makes me wonder whether or n... |
