Jazz for aficionados Here is a jazz artist we haven't celebrated; While on a visit to the U.S. in 1958, Legrand collaborated with such musicians as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, Phil Woods, Ben Webster, Hank Jones, and Art Farmer in an album of inventive orc...
Jazz for aficionados While I'm not sure this tune apply's to our game, I dig Jimmy Smith's organ, and this is one of my favorites from the 50's time frame; I hope you like it too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaTH6VbFK7I
Jazz for aficionados There is something about the feeling I get when I hear those old jazz tunes that were so popular when they came out; it's like seeing an old friend that you haven't seen in a long time, it's a warm feeling. https://www.y...
Jazz for aficionados Rok, although not jazz, "Bennie And The Jets" was most recognizable from the first notes. It was such a popular and catchy tune that it was on the juke box of a jazz joint that I hung out in at that time, 1974; and I played it a lot.
Jazz for aficionados Pryso, both your posts were explicitly correct; there was a game change, and I think the latter is much better, it's easier to understand, and we brought out some of the very best jazz tunes over the years; "Poinciana" was most certainly one of them.
Jazz for aficionados Yes Rok, that was the lady that Phil Woods married.

Jazz for aficionados Happy New Year to all the aficionados, and may you enjoy the music even more this year than you did last year.

20 Year Old Amplifiers compared to 2017 Aardbear, I'm a CJ fan; I have a PV 10A and a PV 12L. The vintage CJ preamps are very special, which is why they have high asking prices. CJ claimed they had "The golden glow" back in the 90's, but since ARC got better press, they went neutral t...
Analog to digital interface The reason I'm reluctant to throw my two cents worth in, is because it's old, and there is a good possibility a better way, or something new has come along since then.If you were thinking about a new cartridge, or some other upgrade, now is the ti...
Analog to digital interface You would do better to pose your question to PC audio. There are audiophile cards that you put in your computer. I have them but forgot what they were. Once you get everything just right, your playback will sound identical to playing a record.Goo...
20 Year Old Amplifiers compared to 2017 Although design can remain the same, better capacitors, faster diodes, higher quality resistors will make a difference. There is one variable we can not quantify, and that is "hearing"; some of us can hear better than others. Although I have never... |
