Hi, decibell ... I still have the ARC REF-75se. I'm enjoying it very much. Everything I've said in this entire thread still applies. As additional upgrades have been made to the system such as cables, fuses, room treatments, etc., the amp just rev...

j_damon ... Thanks for the kudos, but all of the credit goes to Pani who originally recommended the ART-9.  So happy you are experiencing the attributes of the ART-9.  As it breaks in, you will appreciate it even more. Last night I was playing a  ...

Avanti ...In addition to why the ART-9 doesn't call attention to itself, I think  you've also hit on the reason mono records sound so good when played using the ART-9.  It just seems to extract more information from deep inside those mono grooves....

^^^ Nice report Jollytinker .... I've had Keith Jarrett's Koln concert in the collection a few times. The album has really good sound and the vinyl is usually silent too. BUT, Jarrett's humming and moaning throughout the recording is way too intru...

To everyone posting here:Do any of you like coffee? I do. I love really great coffee. Its the only coffee I'll drink. Most think the swill Starbucks sells is good coffee. Most people are entirely satisfied drinking swill. They and their friends ha...

dodgealum ...I have to respectively disagree with you.  I've had a number of good to high end cartridges over the years. Every one of them needed time to break in ... the ART-9 included. The ART-9 was the first cartridge where I relied on a person...

^^^ I don't know if any of you guys have ever made the connection between country & western guitar playing and Hawaiian music. My friend Robert pointed the connection out to me a couple of years ago. Could it have been the influence of Hawaiia...

New:  Pinched sound stage, aggressive highs, bloated bass, recessed mid-range and non-involving emotionally. Broken in:   Sound stage wide open with amazing 3-D imaging, soaring highs, tunefully correct bass lines, super present mid-range and grea...

^^^  rantzmar ...And this is something that is true of not just cartridges, but other electronics as well. My last two ARC amps, both the REF-75 and the REF-75se took over 500 hours to sound their best. And just like you said, it changes from list...

^^^  Now that's interesting, avanti. I believe your experience is due to the fact that you admittedly do not have the patients/confidence (what ever that means) to wait until the cartridge is fully broken in. 20 hours is not even breaking the surf...
