The longest wall of which my equipment sits in front of is 14' the back wall behind my chair is 12' The one side wall is straight for 4' then angles inward towards the wall beh...
Question for Ex-Maggie Owners I also have the 1812 overture and when the cannons fire, my current speakers make the house vibrate, the maggies never did that. I have a Cranberries CD with organ music in it and the low notes will shake the floor and can be felt in my chest, not...
Question for Ex-Maggie Owners To Eldartford, I don't know about the pipe organs, what you say may be true but I don't listen to music with pipe organs, most of my listening is Rock or Jazz and the sub woofer just always seemed to be diconnected from the rest of the music.

Need help w/ Audible Illusions M3A Well I think you got bad info on the bugle boys because mine have been in my M3A for 2mos. and still sound as good as the day I put them in. I do use a set of pearl tube coolers, also I leave the pre-amp on at all times. I also have had success wi...
Need help w/ Audible Illusions M3A yes the gain switches are in the preamp. I am running amperex bugle boys. You will need to make sure that you are flipping the correct switches because there are 4 switches two for the gain and two that are for by-passing the capacitors.
Question for Ex-Maggie Owners I had a pair of MG 3's and although I loved the clarity I just needed to have more bass and the ability to turn the volumn up loud. The 3's just couldn't do either. When turned up loud they would have fits. I can't imagine a classical music lover ...
Need help w/ Audible Illusions M3A I own a AI M3A and i haven't had any tube eating problems although I do use a pair of pearl tube coolers on the line stage tubes. This preamp has a pair of switches that drop the gain down it could be that only one of the switches is set to low ga...
How much does your system retail for? did some upgrading now my 2 channel is around 11k and home theater is 6k.
Great Vintage Amps-which one for you? I find vintage amps work well with hi - end speakers. I use a McIntosh 2100 amp to power some Montana DPS speakers and it sounds great.
Audio Experience tube preamp yes I have to sell mine because it just doesn't mate up with my SS amp. It sounds wonderful but it makes my system have hum and hiss that I didn't have with my Conrad Johnson PV4.
Great Vintage Amps-which one for you? I have a vintage McIntosh 2100 and I love it.
Can anyone tell me about the Proceed PAV good /bad John, thank you for the second opinion lol. by the way what would you recommend around 700-800 used. I have been considering an AI M3 but I don't need a phono stage but L1s are hard to find. I also was considering going back to conrad johnson some...
Can anyone tell me about the Proceed PAV good /bad John, thanks for the info, I will try some of the things you suggested but I really want to get an AI preamp. I am trying to convince my sig. other that my current pre is no good with my system. hehe
Can anyone tell me about the Proceed PAV good /bad John, the buzz and hiss go away when I disconnect the RCAs from the output of the preamp to the amp. I didn't have this problem with my Conrad Johnson PV4 and now I do. All of my power chords and cable lines run through a line conditioner. |
