Three best audiophile CD/LP in your collection The longer I think about it, the more likely the list will change so off the top of my head:Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms, 20th Anniversary SACDSteely Dan - Aja, Cisco LP reissueJohn Coltrane - Blue Train, Blue Note 2008 45 rpm LP reissue
What's your favorite MFSL From my current collection I'd probably say Santana's Abraxas for vinyl and Little Feat's Dixie Chicken on CD.
A headache of choice over CD player I have owned the MCD500 since June of '09 and it amazes me to this day! Each and every time I play a CD or SACD!
Hail to Mcintosh I've always been a sucker for big, blue eyes!
Best SACD's I just picked up Dire Straits' Brothers In Arms 20th Anniversary Edition and it blew me away!
Which is the best cd player under $10k? Add the McIntosh MCD500 to your audition list. IMO it meets most, if not all of the criteria you've listed.

My favorite Steely Dan song has to be... Probably a tie between "My Old School" and "Don't Take Me Alive".
Most musical integrated amp you have heard? What I currently own - a McIntosh MA6600. "Musical" just happens to be the word I most often use to describe the sound.
CDP for McIntosh MA6900 Another vote for the MCD500. I'm also running an MA6600 and "magic" doesn't do the combo justice.
Cambridge Audio 840a vs McIntosh MA6500. I think you are experiencing yout first brush with the McIntosh house sound. Some, like myself, are big fans. To others, it may be an acquired taste or may never sound right. Your ears will let you know soon enough.

Your Best Vinyl Memory My best vinyl memory is fairly recent. Like many, I had almost totally replaced my LP listening with CDs. While I never got rid of my TT or LPs,, I went through a period of many years where the the playing of an LP was a rare event. Then, about a ... |
