Cartridge for Technics SL-1200G or SL-1200GR
sleepwalkder65It might just need a little TLC (clean/lube the spindle, rewire the tonearm with litz tonearm wire, treat it to a new mid/high compliance cartridge, new interconnects and maybe the KAB fluid damper). I had it serviced about two ye...
Phone Stage and DAC for PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium
Wow.  There are so many apparent good choices my decisions are going to be tough.  We have a lot of high-end dealers in the DC area, I can see a lot of trips in my near future.I was researching the Denafrips Terminator; it really peaked my interes...
Phone Stage and DAC for PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium
mdelrossi1, I have a Teac X10-R that will use the RCA input, thus the need for a phono pre.  I still love the sweet sound of those old reels! Both the Black Cube and Gold Note look very promising (and flexible).  Thanks for the recommendations.

Just wanted to introduce myself.
I've had a Teac X-10R since about 1982.  With it, I use a dbx 224 to remove tape hiss and dbx 3bx range expander.  Back in the day, I'd spend hours and sometimes days mixing a 10" reel, or simply recording some of my favorite albums.  I don't have...

How do you store and catalog your vinyl?
I've separated my albums and CDs into two broad categories, Jazz/Blues and then everything else (Soul, R&B, and soft Rock). I sort them by the first letter of the artist or group name.   I have about 1,200 albums - some of which I don't list...

Leaving Solid State Equipment on all the Time
I agree that heat is the enemy of electronic equipment.  I also think that if kept cool, you can run your equipment 7/24 with no issues.  Computers are a good example of that.  My desktop computer is liquid cooled, runs 7x24, and I've never had a ...
Leaving Solid State Equipment on all the Time
I must say, my music does sound much better when I leave the equipment on.  My NAD M12 pre/dac and M22 v2 power amp have a standby mode, but the Zenith does not.  First chance I get, I'm going to place the NADs in standby mode for a few hours and ...

blue jeans cable?
First I made my own bi-wire cables :-).  Bought a pair of their Canare cables and the sound improvement was rather dramatic.  The build quality is outstanding IMHO, and the price was definitely right.
Leaving Solid State Equipment on all the Time
Zenith setup is very user friendly. Instead of Roon, I use LMS  because I have several Squeezebox Duets, Raspberry PI Squeezelight players, and AirPlay speakers making up my whole house music system.  I have the 2 TB model and have started ripping...
