New Rel Carbon Special Sub “Roars” when there is no signal!
@jetter , @lalitk I tried exactly that - swapping the left and right subs and leaving the connections in place. The problem stayed on the left, so there is definitely nothing wrong with the subs. When sliding the sub forward or backwards the prob...
New Rel Carbon Special Sub “Roars” when there is no signal!
@bimmerman2 Talked to Rel today, yes you can have the black wire floating (you should tape it with electrical tape to avoid it accidentally coming in contact with the chassis and causing a short. if you have a ground stud on your balanced differe...
Innuos Pulsar - Some Interesting Info for Innuos Owners
Thanks, good to know!  Sounds like it’s only the Pulsar availability which is delayed.
Innuos Pulsar - Some Interesting Info for Innuos Owners
For anyone interested in the Pulsar Innuos (Nuno) reached out to me with some bad news:  The availability of the Pulsar is delayed a LONG time due to parts shortages, and there is no timeline for when they will be ready…. Sadly I won’t be demoing ...
Starting Point for Room Treatments?
Thanks for the added advice (including marital advice…).  Going to be a bit of a process.  I think I will start by reading that book and YouTube links above to educate myself first.  Then I’ll start taking room measurements with the software and ...
Starting Point for Room Treatments?
Awesome….  Going to try to dig into this process and hopefully have some fun!
Starting Point for Room Treatments?
@glennewdick , thanks for the tip.  Any insight on pointers to get me started on the right software, mic, and process?  I will look into this myself but wondering if you have any resources for doing this off the top of your head.  Much appreciated!
Starting Point for Room Treatments?
Perfect, these were just the pointers I was after. @ohlala I think I will seek out that “Master Handbook of Acoustics” book. I treat this as a hobby so I might as well learn as much as I can in the process. That said I might also go the GIK rout...

2 X Rel Carbons Incoming. Advice on powering?
@audiojan wow, really? Didn’t know that. I didn’t even realize my Diablo was a “differential balanced amp”. While the Diablo has a ground connector, it is not documented and some industry folks I’ve spoken with suspect the connector is the ground...
2 X Rel Carbons Incoming. Advice on powering?
Thanks all for the excellent advice. @fastfreight , I have experimented a lot with the positioning of the 802’s, including toe-in. I found that very slight toe in from facing straight ahead improves how natural vocals that are positioned dead-cent...
2 X Rel Carbons Incoming. Advice on powering?
One other thing, because everyone’s access to quality power varies.  As I mentioned my amp does sound cleaner with more solidity when plugged into my Torus RM-20 isolation transformer.  It’s very noticeable.  But definitely not unlistenable when c...
Innuos Pulsar - Some Interesting Info for Innuos Owners
I’ll let you know how the test goes as soon as I get the demo - which may not be for some time; who knows how long it will take for them to send the demo Pulsar.  I will also have to break it it a good deal as well, as surely it will be a brand ne...

Entreq and Innuos?
Well, we had already talked about using grounding devices like the Nordost QCore.  He said he these have definitely made positive differences in people’s systems.  My issue with that approach is that I think it only makes sense if you don’t use a ...
