McIntosh MA 2275 - Headphone Jack Debacle
I took another look at the manual (on the McIntosh Website) and the part I quoted is from the remote control description. Elsewhere it says the the front panel mute mutes the loudspeaker outputs. So apparently the mute on the remote control and th...
McIntosh MA 2275 - Headphone Jack Debacle
From the manual: Mute: Press the MUTE Push-button to mute audio at the Loudspeaker and Headphone Outputs. Press MUTE a second time to unmute audio.Note the "and Headphone Outputs". I find this very odd. Isn't the whole point of headphones in a hom...
Monitor speaker that will stop the Quest?
Krell Resolution 3. Not cost-no-object speakers, but not inexpensive either, they were $4,000 (not including stands) when I purchsed them in 2005. Now it is almost five years later and I am still happy with them. While I am not prepared to say tha...
Do you ever wonder?

Dumb Question about cables
Thanks, Brf's explanation makes sense. I use Purist Audio speaker cables. The body of the cable has shielding, the leads do not, as Louis M. points out. The leads on Purist Audio speaker cables are especially long--about a foot on either side. So ...
Anti Cables to join my system, are they enough?
I just don't get it. You (Stringreen) have a gorgeous system except for those cables. I'm not saying I'm one to talk, I've got a bit of a rat's nest behind my rack. (My pics make it look worse than it is because of the camera angle.) But I think y...
Anti Cables to join my system, are they enough?
Strongly considered them, read many good things, but never audtioned them. I took a look at some pictures of systems with them, and instead of being unobtrusive, as you would expect for their size, I don't think they look good, hanging in the air,...
KRELL RESOLUTION 1's comparisons ??
Re-reading the above, actually I think my impressions of the Krell Resolution are more close than different than 2chnlben. These speakers do rock. They are great on pop. They do female vocals well. I mostly listen to the Grateful Dead and Shirley ...
KRELL RESOLUTION 1's comparisons ??
The Resolution 1 was very well received and excellent reviews can be found online, including Stereophile and Stereo Times. I never heard it or the 2, but I have owned the 3's for four years. Great speaker. I've read that the Resolution series was ...
Protect cork floors from speaker stand spikes
I use sound anchor coasters. link to a pic of my system, see bottom of speaker stands: http://cgim.audiogon.com/i/vs/s/f/1216660882.jpgThey are not cheap, when I bought them around four years ago, they were around $16 EACH. Here is a link to sound...
Vintage speakers from the 70's and 80's

McCartney Live?
I saw McCartney 15 years ago and he opened the show with "Drive My Car." At the Citi Field show, he opened the show with "Drive My Car" and I said to myself, uh oh. Is this going to be an identical show? And yes, quite a few songs were repeated, s...
McCartney Live?
I attended the 7/17 show at Citi Field, Queens, NY. Paul McCartney returned (almost) to the spot of the Beatles triumphant and historic 1965 Shea Stadium concert in New York City. I say "almost" because Shea Stadium has been torn down and last nig...
Review: Purist Audio Design 20th Anniversary Aqueous Speaker cable
Since I bought the cables used, they had already been broken in, so I can't really comment on the settling-in process for this model. But I can't say that I have noticed any undue brightness.
