Would Audiogoners be interested in this? It would be interesting to see reviews from people for whom one has been able to develop a level of understanding and respect. Even when I hit the music store there is only so much I can look at, I'm sure I miss a lot. If someone here could recomm...
Hardest component to decide on Speakers were the hardest for me. I maintain that all things being equal speakers are the least important link in the chain. Recently I determined that in my chain they were also the weakest link in the chain. When I started looking for speakers I ...
speaker order You can do a lot better than Von Schweikert for that money. Why are you limiting your search like that?
Spkr size vs. Room size It is easy for speakers to overwelm a room. Small speakers are appropriate for a small room, medium for a medium sized room and large speakers for large rooms. There are no real hard, fast rules for what is a small/medium/large room, but the perso...
Review: Cable shootout Nordost, Purist, Synergistic, MIT Speaker cable I can't wait for all the naysayers to come out and tell you there is no difference between cables! I have changed to all Purist cables over the last couple years. I have yet to hear anything that sounds as good at any price, for either more or les...
WAF, Help, Need Strategy If there is a good compromise I haven't found it yet, that's why I'm in the basement. Maybe if I showered more often?!?It's just not important enough to most people to do the crazy things required to get things to sound right. If you can't dazzle ...
I have a confession to make I understand that there is a little humor mixed in with a little real concern, but I wonder about people here (especially myself) if there isn't a deeper problem. No system, no matter how good is ever going to sound like live music. I have heard l...
Pre-amp cables of different length? Or not?? If it were me I would not buy cables of varying length. You strive as much as possible for synergy and balance in your system, but this would be one obvious way of throwing that balance off.Are the amps monoblacks, are you bi-amping or are you run...
Listening Room Almost any room will work. Some rooms work better without a lot of tuning, but anything can be fixed to sound better. There is no room that will sound ideal without any treatment. What you need to do is find out what the problem areas are in your ...
Kharma, Wilson Sophia, JM Labs I'm confussed???? FWIW I just went through much of the same thing. I was looking at a little different group of speakers, but I bought a pair of Kharma Ceramique 1.0 from a gentleman here on AudiogoN. I narrowed my choices from the Wilson Watt/Puppies, Sony SS M9ED...
Tinnitus - do you have ringing in the ears? Once again a complete avoidance of the issue and the truth.
If Money Were No Object... A Fantasy Question Charles the rich pay more taxes because earn more and then they pay it at a higher percentage rate.
If Money Were No Object... A Fantasy Question Slappy, the question was regarding the $1,000,000 to spend on audio, not that you had only a mere $1,000,000!I would build an amazing room in which to keep the system. Then I would buy a pair of Kharma Exquisites (I think is the name, there's $130...
Tinnitus - do you have ringing in the ears? Pbb actually your recent rant does nothing to clarify your incorrect position regarding the difference between efedrine and efedra. Your statement is like asking audioengineer to clarify the differences between interconnects--i.e. completely inval...
Tinnitus - do you have ringing in the ears? Pbb once again your charges are simply wrong. Ephedrine was removed from the market and is synthetic. Ephedra which is natural was not the cause of the health problems. Close, but no cigar, even an organic one! |
