When audiophiles visit for a listening session The next idea I'm working on, is about an audiophile who disguises himself and goes to a HiFi shop trying to get good service... Stayed tuned, or in the case of chadlinz and punkawalla, stay away...
When audiophiles visit for a listening session I guess this thread points out the humorously challenged among us!Papertrail I have no talent, everything anyone writes anymore has been done already, some people just hide their plagarism better than others! I'm just having fun.Never read Bartleb...
I know I have lost my mind and have gone insane Pbb was that the synergy between your rug and your rug???
Looking for phono stage recommendations Sirspeedy - I really don't know what to get right now. I talked to Mehran about the ZYX, but he's only ever had one of them and I don't think he ever heard it in his own system. It sounded like he sold it right from the factory. He does have three...

I know I have lost my mind and have gone insane What do you have on the floor? Is it carpet, wood, concrete etc?Different surfaces have different dialectric characteristics, and will affect the cables which are lying on them. Carpet tends to be the least neutral, or adds the most coloration. Wa...
What was/is the heaviest weight amp you herd/own I had the Krell FPB 700cx which weighed about 165 lbs. I thought that was a monster till I got my Classe Omicron. The bax shipping ticket listed it at 282 lbs with the case. It took two people to move it when I had to adjust the placement in my li...
Looking for a great arm that is low maintenence Docsavage, I don't know that I'd say there is anything wrong with the Rega, it's just not in the class of the others listed here. For it's price it does a very good job, but it does not have the ultimate respolution of the Graham, SME, or the TriP...
Tube bias and related ramblings very exciting Okay, so here it is. I replaced the 6550's with the KT 88s yesterday. The bias for each of the four tubes is currently set to 70.0-70.1mv. That seems high to me, but I don't have any way of knowing where to set them. Any ideas???
SACD Firmware issues? I have the Sony SCD 777es and have NEVER had a disc that would not play.
Markering of CD Edges I had the CD stoplight and used it for a while, but have gotten away from it over the last several years. It seemed to improve the sound on some discs while doing nothing on others. I have never had it detract from the sound of a CD, but I'm not s...
When audiophiles visit for a listening session Steve the light is on! Where are you. I suppose I better warm a spot for Pragmatist.FWIW I enjoy the response more than writing the story, but Cello said it first, what's with the implications that this is not true???
Looking for a great arm that is low maintenence Doug and others, other than the recommendation for the SME because Sota uses it a lot, do any of you think one of these arms will be appreciably better than the others with my Cosmos and ZYX Airy 3 combination?
Looking for a great arm that is low maintenence sirspeedy - I'm leaning toward the TriPlaner, but you mentioned that TriPlaner does not appear to have dealt with the issues that concerned you during your experience. How concerned do I need to be about that. It's tough to make the choice since al...
Teres 265 or 320 vs. Sota Cosmos Tom, I have been remiss. I should have called you a couple of months ago when I noticed your absence. |
