Where does your user name come from? Reality is never as good as imagination! Don't elimnate the mystery. Most people aren't as interesting once you get to know them. Clueless has the best name on AudiogoN. Cornfedboy is from Iowa. It's in his bio. That's are the only ones I know.
Audio as a hobby Clueless, does titanium really ride that much better than my Klein aluminum?
Audio as a hobby Actually I got out of the hobby for several years because it was too sedentary. I began mountain biking about eight years ago and studying a form of Tae Kwon Do styled after the philosophy (intercepting fist) Bruce Lee taught in his studio. I love...
Cable vs. Electronics: biggest bang for the buck I guess there's a lot of places to spend your money if you don't care about how good your system sounds. I'm not sure if some of these people are kidding or if they really think zipcord will sound as good a better cable. I guess, to each his own.
Review: Purist Dominus Interconnect Sean, I got the money back which wasn't really what I wanted. I wanted the phono section. I ended up getting an upgraded Pass Labs Aleph Ono which kicks the buttocks of the Krell IMO. So all things considered it worked out better for me. After lis...
Cable vs. Electronics: biggest bang for the buck One of the factors in my review that I think perhaps gives it a little credibility is the fact that the cables were not mine and had to be returned to their true owner. I had no investment to justify and really felt no obligation to the owner to l...
Stereophile "confirms" Moncrieff's SACD comments ? I'm not sure but I think JA leads a life too sheltered. He needs to get out more often. I suggest a big American motorcycle!
Stereophile "confirms" Moncrieff's SACD comments ? I couldn't agree with TWL more. He is right on the money. My SCD777es sounds much better on SACDs than on redbook but neither of them come close to the sound of my Sota/Rega/benz.I'll conitnue to buy SACDs and LPs at about the same ratio, about 10...
Review: Purist Dominus Interconnect I hope no one, especially Albert misunderstood my poor attempt to end with a joke. There is nothing in the world valuable enough to make it worth stealing to me. A person never wins by stealing, and I can attest to Seans honesty. When I was put in...
Cable vs. Electronics: biggest bang for the buck The whole point of the review and the subsequent comments is that outrageously priced cables add a bigger improvement for less money than buying the electronics. I have listened to $7000 monoblocks and not heard as much improvement as I did with t...
Review: Purist Dominus Interconnect Begging and tears tend to be more persuasive. Although I must admit a person can be disarmed by a good laugh. Don't give up, the journey is at least half of the reward.
Would your system be different if ............? I've often taken the advice of those older and wiser than I. Usually the answers were in response to problems or issues I had, so I guess it would be different. Tom it's guys like you that push guys like me to the next level.
Listener magazine defunct ?? They have announced to some of the manufacturers whose equipment the were reviewing or just finished reviewing that this was to be the last issue. It was not the magazines idea, the owners/parent company bailed on them!Don't shoot me I just the be...
Review: Purist Dominus Interconnect Albert sent the cables to me with the understanding that they were just a loan. He was not looking to sell them, and when he made the offer I had no idea how good they were going to sound. One of the big drawbacks with the Dominus was they are 3.5...
I can't really hear a big difference I was wondering what ICs you were using but you didn't list them with your system. That might be part of the issue. It could just be the poor sound of CD players in general. |
