Strange Tonearm Tweak. Long It is truly a shame that this tweaek did not take off. The cost is virtually nothing and the benefits are huge. There is nothing a person could do to their turntable or arm that will is this cheap and sounds this much better. A person could spend ...
How much does your system retail for? It's the thread that won't go away! I am just over 30,000, but I think the Soundlabs or Wilson Watt/Puppies I want to buy this summer will add a significant amount to that!
Why vinyl? I know at least one person who still uses open reel as a main source of music. The tapes are old, but so is the revox, but neither can be replaced.I wouldn't mind getting a revox myself some day.
Cheap tweaks...What would YOU reccomend? I haven't slogged through all of this advice so forgive me (please) if I am repeating someone. I was looking at the mapleshade catalog and saw something like tepee's supporting cables, to get them off the floor. They wanted too much money but I sp...
Cowboy Junkies I haven't liked anything I've heard from the Cowboy Junkies since "Trinity Sessions." It must have been a fluke. If you liked it on CD, you should hear the LP!
CBS Half Speeds? Digital? I listened to the CBS half speed master of Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" two days again and I was real happy with the sound. This is an older version, no digital here.I know when digital was all the rage in the early 80'many o...

Please help - system "brightness" problem Go to www.rivesaudio.com and see if their model can assist with speaker and chair place. I did it and it worked very well.
What am I going to do with all of this junk? Marty, your junk is better than my main system. What gives? I have stuff sitting on the shelves too. California Audio Labs Icon Mk II, a Sony cassette deck, a BIG JVC HT receiver along with miscellaneus (sp) interconnects and speaker cables. Unfor...
Review: Sony SS-M7aes Speaker Zaikesman, I have taken a fair amount of flak from fellow AudiogoNers, but I have to say they still sound very good. I know they are not a great speaker. They will never compete with a pair of Watt Puppies or Soundlabs, but they cannot be beat for...
Jethro Tull recent Remasters vs Mobile Fidelity? Janis had the decency to die before she got old, I guess!
How much LF info on LPs? Onhwy61, my system is not the only one I have ever heard. Even if it were, how would that be relevent to anything? I am using the same speakers for listening to CDs and LPs. Why would my speakers (of lesser quality than yours) sound better with LP...
How much LF info on LPs? I have yet to own a CDP with bass that even begins to approach the bass produced by vinyl. I have an SACD player too and it's still not even close. I'm not sure where some of these comments about the merit of digital bass originate?!? Everything a...
Best speaker wiring Part of the answer would be based on the binding posts on the back of your amp. I would, and have bought the internally bi-wired with two going into four at the speaker. I'm sorry but the suggestion of using zipcord is just stupid. If you don't ca... |
