Why do DIY products have less value ? But the Bentley will get you there better! If Bentley couldn't do it better they'd be out of business. They are better made, more comfortable, and a heck of a lot faster. Nobody looks when a Hondas goes by, everyone notices a Bentley. While I under...
Tough Speaker choice, Please look and comment At the risk of ridicule I suggest a dark horse: The Sony SS m9. There are two models for sale right now used. The sound quality would shock you. Have no fear they are American designed and made. Sony was looking to make a 'cost no object' speaker ...
Which artists do you just not get? What is PJ Harvey all about? I don't get it! I tried to like K D Lang too, but it didn't take. Must be the intial thing...
Amp for Revel Salons I have heard the Salons with Mark Levinson amp and pre-amp. Since I am not that familiar with Levinson amps I do not know the model number, sorry. I was floored by the 'liquid' midrange. I have never heard a better midrange in any speaker I have a...
Krell Master Reference Amplifier Paul, I'm just curious1) How long did you allow the three amps you mentioned to break-in?2) How long did you have the three of them in your system?3) In what ways did you consider the Plinius SA 250 to be sonically superior?4) When you say the Gol...
Hardwiring? Sean and Elizabeth are on to something. I have thought about hardwiring my stuff, but was never ready to commit to my present system so completely. It's kinda like getting married. Things are easier to join together than to put asunder!!!With the ...
Does full range guarantee bass? Speakers will never reproduce what does not come to them. Everything up the line from the speakers is more important, but the speakers are still very important. If you have a full range speaker and are not getting good bass something is wrong with ...
what is a good sound stage suppose to sound like? Speaker placement is critical to obtaining any sound stage. Many people are willing to give up any hope for soundstage because they do not want speakers intruding on their room. With speakers against the wall the listener will hear increased bass,...
Can I get "Great" used speakers for $1800?? Calanctus, this was an earlier version of the SS M9's. Not the totally redesigned speaker with the 'super tweeter' on top of the cabinet. Right now there is a guy selling a better pair of my speakers for $1800. These would be a steal, and if they ...
Review: Sony SS-M7aes Speaker clbeanz, interesting experience you had with these speakers. I didn't have the problems with the SS M7a version that you mentioned. I don't use these speakers anymore. After several years with them I bought a pair of the SS M9's. I liked the 7's a...
Rock Music: 1951-1976 vs. 1977-2003 Unclejeff, you're saying that the mid 70's were an interlude in good quality R&R? How can one really argue/debate this?Jethro Tull (which started recording in '67, but was around much earlier) put out some of their best LPs in the 75-79 years....
Rock Music: 1951-1976 vs. 1977-2003 I think I understand the issue being discussed, but isn't this similar to: which came first, the chicken or the egg? If Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf hadn't done what they did, would the Beatles and Rolling Stones ever done what they did?For the m...
hifi as investment? As long as you are willing to forego food clothing and reasonable lodging there is no reason you cannot enjoy this hobby and not have it conflict with other aspects of your life. Actually making money though is doubtful!
Review: Sony SS-M7aes Speaker clbeanz, do you know which version of the SS M7 you have? My comments were made about the later SS M7a. Some of the drivers were changed. The tweeter was upgraded and I felt was always one of the strong points of this speaker. It played bells and ...
Working backwards... You can get very close to a Krell FPB 200 for that price which will be an improvement over the KSA 150.Good luck. |
