Krell FPB 200, comments? I have the FPB 200 amp and I have been very happy with it. The concerns about bass are (I believe) unfounded. I have not noticed any dropoff in bass signal as the lower octaves are reproduced on test equipment. One of the biggest differences betwee...
Alot of preamp questions ARC makes a great product, and I would not try to talk you out of it, but the Adcom is really an above average performer for the price.I'm not sure if you're looking at buying new or used but there are going to be literally hundreds of good pre-am...
Which cables go with what????? Audioengr, you have long exhibited a complete lack of understanding when it comes not only to cable, but many other issues. I guess the user name does not insure reliability. Why do you continue to propound these things that anyone with ears can te...
Help me clean and restore my vinyl collection I scored several packages of sleeves from Ebay. A guy was selling off the leftovers from "Reference Recordings" after they went out of business. They are the best 'bulk' sleeves I have ever bought.I have never used the Loricraft cleaner, but every...
To Rack Mount or Not Actually stehno you are quite wrong about the ability remove airborne vibrations. I have had some discussion with a gentleman who custom builds stands designed to eliminate the specific frequency at which a piece of gear is prone to vibrate, but a...
What would it take to balance a stereo power amp ? Both groups are right as far as they go.1) Balanced outputs can be added to anything.2) Having XLR outputs does not make the piece balanced. This is a design issue which obviously involves more than just outputs. Balanced circuitry is balanced thr...
To Rack Mount or Not Stehno is right. You can get better performance from a well executed stand than you can from loading all that stuff onto the 'springboard' that passes for a rack in most cases.Isolation, and dampening are much more easily accomplished on the bette...
My brain hurts, tube integrated with RC and phono? I would have a hard time getting rid of the pieces you questioned. I'd take the cassette deck out. They really don't sound that good. I liked my RX 505 but it ultimately wasn't worth what I paid, and the space it took up on the rack. Cassettes are...
Tom Waits...anyone? I wish he would keep 'waiting.'
Am I wrong? I agree that your piece should go to the front of the line, behind, of course others in the same situation. Being without the piece of gear can be very frustrating. I sent a TT in to SOTA to be upgraded. They got it done pretty fast, but it still ...
Help with 30th anniversary DSOTM vinyl? I have several copies of this reissue and have never had that problem. I thought the vocals , just like the rest of the LP sounded amazing. Alan parsons, or no Alan Parsons, this is a 'must have.'It's hard to imagine the problem is a VTA issue, bu...
Need Help with Technical Question Are you talking about having two different sources of power running in to one pair of speakers??? Don't do it, if I understand what yop are contemplating.
Copies Better Than Originals? http://www.genesisloudspeakers.com/whitepaper/Black_CDsII.pdf is the source of this most recent question.I have read through the paper and still don't find any expanation for the theory.I doubt that Arnie Nudal and his reps are making things up, b...
RB 900 tweaking I no longer have the stock fingerlift for the RB 900 it was replaced with a fingerlift from a Naim Aro arm and I think it is much better. The HiFi mod is worth the money too. I would not want to be without it. The improvement was obvious!
Dylan new remasters/SACD preview Well I guess I better save some money for this. |
