Need recommendation for amplifier
rvpiano,     Are you getting a stereo amp or the Stratos mono-blocks?       Regardless, I know the Odysseys are very good class A/B amps but I really think you're making a mistake you will regret later.       Do you have the means to buy the Odyss...

rvpiano,     I know you just ordered a pair of Red Dragon m-500 monos but I've been doing some online research on Nuforce and found out some information you may not know that I think is important that I let you know about:     In 2014, NuForce’s ...
Help a guy out? Renovating home theater system after 10 years and have a few questions.
Where the heck did the OP, vasubandu, go? He hasn't replied since his original post.  I think we're doing okay without him but to whose benefit?
what to buy first
I agree you need to answer the questions posed by timlub, mhsmith and gdnrbob above before beginning your purchases.  Once you do that, I would start with determining which speakers you want since they are arguably the biggest influence on ho...

rvpiano,     Glad to help and hope everything works out great for you.   I actually almost bought a pair of the Red Dragon M-500 but they were out of stock on the black models.  I think the M-500  and D-Sonic M-600 both are very neutral amps even ...
Lowering the noise floor
" Wouldn’t that be a moot point if one is using an integrated amp?"gdhal, Not really, since almost all integrated amps just have a built in active preamp section. However, integrated amps do eliminate the need for external cables that are required...

rvpiano, That was fast! Good choice buying the Red Dragon M-500 monos, congrats. Yes, the 45-day tryout period is very good but I seriously doubt you’ll want to return them. Plenty of clean power and high damping factor should enable your DQ 20 s...
Need recommendation for amplifier
rvpiano,    That is a sad story.  If you want a very good pair of class D monos in your price range I'd suggest D-Sonic M-600 monos that I own and love on my Magnepans or the Red Dragon M-500 or M-1000 monos that get great reviews.Tim

Hi rvpiano,    Which Nuforce class D mono-block model do you own that went bad?    Did Nuforce inform you that your mono-block cannot be repaired?     It seems odd to me Nuforce would be unable to repair one of their own class D mono amps.  They'r...

Hi willemj,     I’m in no hurry to upgrade my Panasonic plasma, either. I believe you’re in Europe from some of your prior posts I’ve read. I’m in the states and, as you may know, there’s been more and more 4K content available and we should see s...

Hi gdhal,     Okay,  you're correct, I did violate our agreement.        In my defense, I do admit your denial of OLED technology being an important contributor, along with HDR, to the pq of hdtv and this exact same denial being the #1 example in ...

" I'm proud to be in the minority."Hi gdhal,     I suggest being in the minority isn't always something to be proud of.      Here is The Official Top 10 List of The Most Unreasonable Things a Minority of Individuals Actually Thinks or Thought Thr...

I don't care if balanced cables with XLR connections are actually superior or not.  I'm going to keep using them because they sound good in my system, provide very secure connections and, truth be told, are infinitely cooler than RCA cables and co...
Strange, interesting, hysterical music
sfar,    Looks like a Saudi Arabian orchestra playing reggae- that is cool.  They seem to be having a lot of fun, even dancing. Sheltered me didn't think they did stuff like this over there-the international language of music-excellent.Thanks,  Tim
