PASS LABS XA-30.5 vs XA-60.5 No worries, Audiofeil. We don't have to agree. In any event, I also find the xa-30.5 to be a great amp.
PASS LABS XA-30.5 vs XA-60.5 Mr. Audiofeil,Some caution is needed when reading your very decisive recommendation. With regards to Aliens,if you call business marketing an area 51 theory, than maybe I made a wrong use of the word "shrewd".
PASS LABS XA-30.5 vs XA-60.5 I've been following this thread for quite some time. Let me first say that I am a very happy owner of an xa-30.5 - great amp with my 94db speakers. To me, Audiofeil's statement clearly sounds like a dealer trying to aim for the sweetest price poin...
Why are people selling there Marantz pm-11s1's? well, that's great. Enjoy. I have had the Pm11s1 for a while now and just loves it.
Why are people selling there Marantz pm-11s1's? I do not know why so many people are selling, because...I just bought one. I was willing to pay more for a super integrated or a power amp, but made up my mind after listening to the level of refinement that this amp is capable of.

Review: Mcintosh MT10 Turntable Thanks for submitting this review. I was very curious to learn more about the Mac TT. It's good to know that you liked it.However, comparing a 1200 TT to one that costs many times more, is a bit unproportional...
Review: Threshold 400a Amplifier Hi RlockI didn't quite understand what you meant by your post- who were you criticizing?
phono stage break in? Dan_ed, Nsgarch, RauliruegasI really do appreciate the time your took to explain it to me. I used to be a firm non-believer in break in phenomena, until I recapped my preamp (ns-10). When I first got it it sounded awful, dry with decreased dynamic...
phono stage break in? Nsgarch- thanks for your response. However, I am not sure that I agree with it, and I think that by just turning the unit on for as long as needed (without even an input cable plugged in), you are basically achieving the same goal...and, based on ...
phono stage break in? This one is not a rebutal by any way, just a question: Well...what about NOT using anything and just keeping the phono preamp on for a while. Does someone have any evidence that this by any means yields inferior results than buying a $20 CD ?
Review: Sunfire Symphonic Reference Preamplifier Well, I had two of them....I think that's about enough to influence one's opinion. I'm glad that your SRP is good with no problems whatsoever. Enjoy!
Review: Sunfire Symphonic Reference Preamplifier btw my system included a various cd/dvd (rega planet, sony cd/sacd, dvp-ns725s, ead 7000 mkIII), CJ sa-250 and reference 3a's Dulcets. My SRP frustrations ended when I traded it for a 25 year old ns-10 (the first threshold preamp).
Review: Sunfire Symphonic Reference Preamplifier I actually tried the MF tube (x10 v3) at various points in the system (i.e. before the preamp, in a processor loop and between the pre and the amp)- it did result in "fuller sound" (slightly better midrange) but the dynamics became even weaker.
Review: Sunfire Symphonic Reference Preamplifier Two remarks:1. But why did I keep it for so long? Well, one reason beside money is that it DOES have a wonderful midrange- I can't take that from the SRP. 2. My appologies about the "Compared to the classic tube preamp, the SRP was quickly withdra... |
