What Power Cord can improve clarity and bass slam? I am surprised no one has mentioned the LessLoss Sigs. IMHO these are among the best on the market, including cost-no-object (its a subject!) cords. I have or have had most of the so-called Big Boys and the LL Sigs are right up there. And easy to ...
Disappointing Albums of 2012 Disagree vociferously with 1, 2 and 5.Think new GLS is best they have done. Same for Kathleen's Voyageur. Bruce's Wrecking Ball is best he's done in a long time.Just because these artists don't repeat themselves does not mean these works are not o...
Nordost Quattro Fil is still good I still use the QF and find it still to be a superb cable. Newer is not necessarily better. Raw materials have increased in price considerably since QF days so you may not be getting the same value for the same price.Neal
AES Cables: Kubala, Stealth, PAD, etc..experiences Secnd the Stealth Sexter ASES/EBU digicable. Tried out many in same proce range. Only ones close were valhalla and Kharma. Been happy with the Sextet for years now.Neal
How good is Bryston BDP-1? I use it with a W4S DAC2 and the sound is beyond superb, as is ease of use. No muss or fuss with a transport or laptop, and the sound is absolutely pristine if your digital material is. And the cost is considerably less than some of the names you ...
Fuses that matter. Nonoise, I started at the top of the line, so I cannot answer. My speculation is the improvement would be small but noticeable. Do doubt next year there will be an "Ultimate Supreme." Good luck.Neal
Fuses that matter. I cannot speak to any of the technical aspects of fuses, but I have been an audiophile for many years and trust my ears, not hype. I sprang for the top of the line, $90 Supreme versions. If worthless, my loss would be limited.I have installed HiFi...
Joseph Audio Pulsars I read the review differently. As I understood the point, the Pulsars were very good for monitors, but if you want real sound reporduction, you need to go with full-range floorstanders.Neal
Which monitor speaker to choose?? I have had the Spendor SA1's since they came out, in a room of similar size as yours. I would not trade them for anything else of that size. They do nothing wrong, are extremely musical, image like bandits, and any time I have sold Spendor monitor...
Bryston BDP-1 Own one? What DAC are you using? It takes only a few seconds or minutes to load or reload the library after the first time. It is much faster if you connect the HDD when the BDP-1 is off or on standby. The Gnome interface available for free download on the Internet is not clunky a...
Cloud Storage for Music I think Mlsstl's and the other Inmates'comments are cogent and persuasive, raising issues I had not considered. I think I will continue backup on external HDD. Thanks, gang.Neal
Headphones? Anyone? Do you want headphones, earphones or does it matter?Neal
need good solid state amp to match my tube preamp Get a used Krell FPB cx amp. They work very well with tube pres, have all the power you'll need and last forever. My 300cx is almost 10 years old and has never had even a hiccup, sounds grand with my Wyetech Opal tube pre. Always looking to upgrad...
Anyone have a CJ PF-R owners manual copy I don't have a manual but I do have the pre. Do you have an operational question I might be able to help you with?Neal |
