What stole your attention from HiFi? Slappy, it's appropriate that you would have 'support the troops' emblazoned on the bumber of your car - they're out there to ensure you continue to have access to a cheap supply of non-renewable fossil fuels to feed your car.
underrated or unheard of musician/band Heather Eatman. I'll just use an excerpt from a review that does a very good job of describing her music:"(Mascara Falls - her debut album)...has the touch of a weathered, worldly storyteller. Her songs/stories have bright and dark sides which are...
ProAc Tablette 50 vs Linn Katan I found the tablettes to be quite disapointing. (Particularily the tablette 2000 floorstanders.) I think in order to make a change from the the katans that wouldn't be a step down you would have to go the Proac response series.
Linn Tuner Modules for Kairn, etc. Only the Wakonda and the Majik will take a Kudos tuner. No other Linn preamps will.
a/d/s ph6 Multi chanel home amp A/D/S/ stuff is excellent. Same maker as Meitner (Ed Meitner). The company was sold a few years ago and is now just a name, but I think the amp you are looking at is the genuine goods.
Linn Aktiv Kabers vs Dynaudio Contour S5.4 Lose the kabers and go for the Dynaudios. Oh and by the way, if you are thinking of selling the Kabers - please let me know, I'll take 'em. ;-)
I get a "clicking" on some of my burnt CD's, why? I experienced the same thing. It seemed to sometimes get gradually worse, sounding like wood crackling in a fireplace, until it finally crescendoed with a big pop. Then it would usually disappear. The crackling was part of the recording. No one co...
Linn Mimik or Rega Planet? They are both great players. I owned a mimik for 2.5 yrs(as well as a majik), and now own a Karik III. The mimik does all of the things linn cd players are known for - it can sound slightly restrained on certain recordings (but still very musical)...

Happy listening, - Brian.Ps: I have read that the Classe is very good piece as well - main reason they stopped production being that it was too expe...
Help w/ tuner in Classik , CRCD vs. FT101A please The Classik is extremely well thought out and an absolute pleasure to use once you take the time to get to know how to use it. The tuner is excellent - hard to tell the difference between it and the Linn Kudos - or CD for that matter. It pulls in ...
I can't really hear a big difference I recently sold my Linn Mimik CD player to purchase a Karik but circumstances caused an extended delay. While waiting for the Karik I resorted to my cheap sony CD player to get me by. I had done listening comparisons between the Mimik and the Sony...
Pure Monstrosity re: Monster tm cables Well said Jlambrick. It's up to the consumer to discern quality from pure crap - unfortunately the average N. American is not very discerning or critical. The majority of the public seems quite happy partaking in a throwaway society where quantity...
Pure Monstrosity re: Monster tm cables As someone else pointed out, with most luxury or status items you know what you are getting, they are not being sold based on any false representation of quality. With $6000$ cables? You are buying the Brooklyn Bridge.
Pure Monstrosity re: Monster tm cables Yes Gallaine, Monster is successful, good for Noel Lee. - I for one will not support him.
Pure Monstrosity re: Monster tm cables I agree that profiteering in the audio industry - cables in particular - is dragging it down. - I believe good cables can benefit a system, I have heard the improvements and have spent a couple of hundred on them myself, but ANYBODY marketing a ca... |
