Hi All - I'm new to much of this and you guys are quite informed. My problem is that about one-fifth of the songs or albums that seek to play, simply don't play. What I mean is that the album appears loaded and the seconds tick by, but no sound. ...
Omega Super Alnico Monitor/Aric Audio SE KT88
Hello oddiofyl - Have you received your SAMs? How do they sound compared to your Forte's? I'm still waiting on my Super Alnico Hight Output Monitors. While waiting on the Omega's I've been wondering if I should have bothered ordering them given th...
Omega Super Alnico Monitor/Aric Audio SE KT88
Anyone is paying attention after 4 years? Hope so. About 4 months ago I ordered a pair of Omega Super Alnico High Output Monitors. In the meantime I went from a LM 218 feeding my Forte IV to a Decware UFO25th Anniversary amp. BTW, in case you're ...
Good Suggestions for Tube Amps under 6k
Greg - You've certainly attracted a lot of good advice. Ha...maybe too much advice. For my two-cents worth, I owned the top of the line Prima Luna and did lots of tube rolling and such. Loved it for two years. But last year I heard and purchased a...
SME 309 or SME 3009r?
Hey all - let's be clear. The 3009 is not the 3009r. I don't recall exactly, but the r stands for revised, renewed or replacement. It's not your pedestrian 3009. Look online and you'll see the 3009r being sold for upwards of $2,000 while the 3009 ...
SME 309 or SME 3009r?
Dover, thanks for taking the time and effort to offer an informed and well-measured opinion.

Anyone have an experience with the AudioDesk CD Lathe? Supposedly rounds out the CD making it more concentric thus reduce vibration. Hmmm.   https://www.techradar.com/reviews/audio-visual/av-accessories/audio-desk-systeme-cd-improver-678516/re...
Line Magnetic LM-845 Premium - How quiet is it?
My LM845 is quiet, now. However, six months into owning it, a loud hum developed. I sent it in for repair to their shop in AZ.(all under warranty, though I paid shipping $200 one way) It took four months to get parts. It's been working fine since ...
Recommendations for speakers that sound great at lower volume levels.
Thanks everyone. I've come to the conclusion that I need higher efficiency speakers or a tone control to interface with my amp. I'll let you what I do and find out.
Recommendations for speakers that sound great at lower volume levels.
High efficiency is over 100db 1 watt 1-meter omega is not a high eff loudspeakerThat's interesting and worth considering. What do other people think?  You know, Omega speakers promote themselves as high efficiency and a good match with the LM 845ia.

I'm taking the advice that high efficiency is the way to go for low volume listening and for my particular amp, Line Magnetic 845ia. Does anyone have an opinion on Omega speakers? I'm reading about the Super Alinco towers. Important factor - will ...

Thanks, Stingray26. I appreciate the effort and time you put into your response. I'll have to find out who in the North Carolina Triangle region sells KLH. I'm anxious to try them out. As I said earlier, I feel like the answer to my hifi dilemma i...

Thanks, yakbob. I just did a bit of reading on the ZRock and it sounds like it could be my solution. They offer a 30 day trial but with a 10% restocking fee, should I return it. Definitely worth a try. I assume they'll work fine with an integrated...

Thanks, Stingray26. I feel as though you're speaking to what I'm looking for. And actually, lately I'm feeling that I way overspent on my equipment for incremental improvements that are quite impressive, but again, only at rather loud volumes. Ind...

Interesting idea, buddyboy1!  At a couple of hundred dollars it's definitely worth a try. On the other hand, higher efficiency speakers are probably the way to go at the end of the day. Yes, I wish I could afford the Devore's. What say you audiogo...
