At33ptg II perfect straight out the box Vegasears do you think it works even better with a bit more mass?Mine is on a medium mass TA. Nottingham Analogue Ace Space Deck. I had an extra 2 or 3g on my Goldring to try to get better performance in the lows but it probably made no difference...
At33ptg II perfect straight out the box Maybe it was easy to set up because I had fiddled for ages to get the previous cart a goldring 1042 singing eventually. I didn't change anything from that, just set the overhang and go instant improvement over a run in goldring IMO. Though I had n...
At33ptg II perfect straight out the box I think I'll be happy with the at33 until I have a set up of many thousands. It is speakers next. Probably some that will be transferable to a valve amp.I tried upgrading my amp before the speakers last time and there was literally no improvement,...
Pure Sound A10 or Solid-state of similar price? My experience of the A10 Well I couldn't get away with the Rega Brio latest model either! Sent it back in preference of my old JVC ax-01.I wonder is it because my Wharfedale 10.1 speakers are not up to the task?? You'd think an upgrade in amp to to level of either a pure ...
Pure Sound A10 or Solid-state of similar price? My experience of the A10 Interestingly the JVC and rega both attempt class A using wizardry and both do it well. I remember someone once reporting that they tested a JVC ax and it had no discernable crossover distortion. The pure sound is class A.
Denon DL103 vs Goldring 1042 on a Spacedeck Sorry about commenting on an old thread but I'm just wondering about how you got on? I have an ace space deck with a 1042 and would like your opinion on the 1042 and deck?I feel like the space deck tonearm or wiring or platter removes some of the ...
Nottingham Space Deck and Space Arm question? This is purely for reference for others. I could not find a way to adjust the cue height on the Nottingham Analogue space arm so used a work around. Using scissors I cut a sheet of lexan / plastic sheet of about 1mm thickness into a shim that slot...
Goldring 1042 Anti Skate Too High on Dead Wax I got a helpful email from Goldring but the fact remains that if I take the bias weight off completely and just have the self weight of the lever, that is enough for it to go flying off towards the outer limits in the run out dead wax. It goes so ...
Goldring 1042 Anti Skate Too High on Dead Wax Hey it sounds a lot better at 2g by the way. It also seems to have toned down in only about 4hrs of run in. They say it takes 40. I'm looking forward to what it's like after then.
Goldring 1042 Anti Skate Too High on Dead Wax Thanks lewm. I read that passage as a plus for a blank record. It is only 50% too high if it stands still. It is best to let it still move in slowly. Enough for the run out to just to say catch it before the loop groove. That is what soundsmith re...
Goldring 1042 Anti Skate Too High on Dead Wax I wonder if it's the bearing. It's a unipivot and have no frame of reference as never had one before. It is a wobbly thing. Goes a mm forward and back and rotates maybe a degree or so. Seems to sit fine when playing though and sounds good.
Nottingham Space Deck and Space Arm question? Sorry this is an old thread but do you know how to make the lifting mechanism higher, ie so the arm drops from higher up. Can't keep the tone arm level without skimming the record when ithe arm is lifted.
Goldring 1042 Anti Skate Too High on Dead Wax I have no test record for comparing distortion.I am enjoying the music. As most people set the anti skate too high and it sounds just fine, I would not rate the anti skate on whether it sounds fine. But saying that, I am unsure if there is some dist...
Goldring 1042 Anti Skate Too High on Dead Wax https://www.sound-smith.com/faq/how-do-i-adjust-anti-skating-my-cartridgeI am happy with this source seen as they are well renound cartridge repair service etc.
Goldring 1042 Anti Skate Too High on Dead Wax I could max out the counter weight with the Helikon cart and it would still not slide off like this. |
