60 watt Rogue Tubes for Vandersteen 3A Signatures "but for sheer dynamic power, tubes seem better to me."I'm not sure about dynamic but I do believe a 100 watt tube amp sounds louder than a 100 watt ss amp. I still don't believe 60 watts, tube or ss, is enough to get the best from the 3As.Wendell
60 watt Rogue Tubes for Vandersteen 3A Signatures Tvad, OK. I'm just sharing my experience with the speakers and lots of different amps. That's what I heard.Wendell
60 watt Rogue Tubes for Vandersteen 3A Signatures 60 watts of tubes will do ok except for the bass unless that amp has a good amount of current. Otherwise, it will be uncontrolled, flabby and without any real slam. Wendell
60 watt Rogue Tubes for Vandersteen 3A Signatures I understand Krisjan's subjective take on the difference between tube and ss watts. I've felt the same for years.Wendell
60 watt Rogue Tubes for Vandersteen 3A Signatures Bass will suffer but it will work.Wendell
VTL 2.5 preamp not too shabby Vegasears, "I moved to a Musical Fidelity 308cr" How do you like it and how did it compare to the VTL?Wendell
VTL 2.5 preamp not too shabby I decided to change the sound of my system. No issues with the 2.5 but, well, you know this hobby. It's one of the half dozen best I've owned. I'm replacing it with a Musical Fidelity A5cr. It should be here by the end of the week. Wendell
VTL 2.5 preamp not too shabby I just sold mine. I used Telefunkens and Mullards in the line stage and RAM Low Noise in the MM stage. I rotated various single tubes in the MC stage. It is an excellent preamp.Wendell
Columbia 2 Eye Question Those with black are earlier pressings. The last 6-eyes were pressed in 1962 and then replaced with the two-eye with black lettering. The lettering was changed to white a few years later and lasted until the end of 1969 when the two-eye was discon...
L and R channel/Red and White in system chain Actusreus, don't let it overwhelm you. Other than the rumble filter, which I don't know, it is simply to see how each of your components should be connected.Good luck,Wendell
Don't you love it when this happens? Trio Jeepy is a great, great record. Killer sound and it is a digital recording. It's the record I always recommend when people says it makes no sense to have an LP sourced from a digital master. The CD does not compare to the vinyl even they thou...
Windham Hill an audiophile label? Gosh, no mention of Tuck and Patti.
Windham Hill an audiophile label? In my experience, most of the Windham Hill catalog was good sounding elevator music. Much of which only an audiophile could love (sound over music).Wendell
Wilson Sasha versus Watt Puppy 8 I heard the 8s when they were introduced. I thought they were a step back from the 6s and 7s. I didn't care for them at all. I will be hearing the Sasha, in a home environment, soon. A friend is have a new pair being delivered on Friday.I never ca...
Taylor Swift Stewie, "But that's a career that's bound to end badly, and sadly."I think the young woman's vocal skills are limited. I don't see the basis for your statement.Wendell |
