music file storage/playback suggestions please
hi Mark - sorry I didn't see this until today. if I understand right, you need 2 things: a computer to send the files, and (optional) a DAC to convert the files to analog so your preamp will play them. most computers have decent DACs these days, s...
what's the cheapest device that will run itunes and connect via USB to a hard drive?
thanks! the HD of music I want to gift is 700+GB, so I don't think a (cheap) phone would have that kind of storage.
will changing to solid-state make the bass in my wilson sophias better at low volume?
I guess I just need to audition a high-powered SS amp and a (sealed) sub in my system. thanks for all the helpful responses, especially from people who have experience with sophias.

I'm using itunes, which has a 10 band eq. I tried using that, but didn't like the results.
extending the range of USB from computer to DAC - suggestions?

upgrade suggestions from wilson sophias (original)?
oops. I forgot to respond to: 'what aspects of sound reproduction and system performance do you value most highly?' I have extremely eclectic taste so I've opted for a system that can do everything from folk music to orchestral to gothic-industria...
upgrade suggestions from wilson sophias (original)?
thanks for the replies. I like everything about the sophias except the lack of very low frequencies (e.g. in electronic music). it also might be b/c I have tube amps, so SS might fix the issue. this might be as simple as getting a good-quality sub...
burr-brown vs. sabre vs. ?
thanks for the responses. as I mentioned, I'm actually looking for an 'interface' (musicians use them to convert their audio signals into digital for use with 'digital audio workstations' (like protools). in other words, this ain't 'high end'. I c...
What do you like in an inexpensive tube integrated
I second the vote for Rogue Cronus
Affordable improvement on Valhala Circus LInn LP12
I agree with Kentaja: the Lingo is more than an 'incremental' upgrade. I listened to 2 LP12s, side by side, one with Lingo and one without, and the difference was far from subtle: it seemed like the Lingo added a huge amount of low end.
