| Revel Studio 1, B&W 802N or Sonus Faber Cremonas Revel, Mac and Ayre sounds good. The Revel would give you better bass over the Sonus but the Sonus would sound a bit more natural. Don't like B&W at all. | |
| Audio Research Ref5 KT88 Do not do it. 6550 should be the only tube used in the Ref 5 and Ref 3. Make sure you get a 6550 that has been tested becuase you will hear it if it's noisy. | |

| re-tubing CJ LP70s Change all the 6922 tubes out for a nice set of amperex or mullard 6DJ8 and it will help. You can try to install KT88 in it also but I have never tried that and don't know if that will improve on the SED 6550. Not sure why people are mentioning 12... | |

| Berkeley Alpha DAC vs Theta Gen VIII and stuff... I have compared the Modwright transporter to the Theta and I liked the Modwright much better but a preamp with the modwright makes a huge difference. You can not run the transporter direct to amps. A good preamp makes all the difference in the world. |
