Need cartridge advice for Philips turntable ...or maybe a hum issue. Grado Service didn't elaborate on why it was not compatible.
Need cartridge advice for Philips turntable A Grado cart will definitely fit; no question about that. I assumed the Grado cart was "not compatible" due to a compliance issue.
NHT 2.5 manual request I uploaded the 2.5i manual:https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/nht/2-5i.shtmlCheers!
NHT 2.5 manual request jimimac, I have the Owners Manual for the NHT 2.5i. Sent you a PM.
NHT 2.5 manual request Thanks davehrab, appreciate the input. The version I have is the 2.5, not the 2.5i. The differences between the two are fairly significant, i.e., a different tweeter and crossover.
New phono preamp vs NAD 1020 Thank for the advice, Johnnyb53. I currently have a Jolida 302b and think its a great way to get into tubes!Mechans, it's not that I find the NAD lacking or wanting, I just have no basis of comparison, thus can't determine if this is worth pursuin...
New phono preamp vs NAD 1020 Thanks Manitunc. How do think the Cambridge would compare to Musical Fidelity's V-LPS?
NAD 4020A issue That's good to hear, Mechans. I was hoping to replace the problem part; it makes a awful racket through the tube amp when trying to power up. I always power up the tuner first, then the rest of the system...others family members often forget to do...
NAD 3155 and 4155 question Thank you...I look at the Audiogon site often and yet never thought to use the Bluebook feature. Sorry for my senior moment! And no offense to any seniors.
Fried speaker comparison I finally got the Q/3s up and playing. To my surprise, I like them better with a mid-line Cambridge integrated than with my Jolida 302b. I would never have predicted this! Any thoughts or comments?
Fried speaker comparison Currently, I have a Jolida 302b, CAL DX1 and KEF Q15.2 I just picked up a pair of Fried Q/3 and finished replacing the woofer surrounds. Can't wait to hook them up. Years ago, I had pair of A/5s and sold them to "upgrade". To this day, I regret pa...
Carver CT-7 as a turntable preamp with a receiver Roscociii is correct, using the tape loop is preferable. I used to the pre out jacks because there was a large discrepancy between the preamp output and the other line level inputs. (Hopefully, you will able to use the tape option.)
Fried speaker comparison To add more variables to the mix, I could power to speakers with either valve or SS amps.
Carver CT-7 as a turntable preamp with a receiver I did a similar configuration. I ran my TT to a NAD preamp then out of the preamp to a Jolida integrated amp that had only line level input. (The NAD preamp volume pot is always at the 12:00 position.) While not the optimal setup, it sounds MUCH b...
EL34 vs 6CA7 vs KT77 Thanks Sfar, that help greatly. Have you (or anyone else) had experience with the JJ KT-77? I heard the reliability of these tubes has bettered since their initial release. Would love to get the Genalex KT-77, but the price point may become an issue. |
