Your ONE all time favorite love song?
Marvin Gaye's Inner city blues! Make me wanna holler, the way do my life...
Infinity Kappa 9's
maybe I should add that I am a moderate to low volume listener. Listen to a little of everything but mostly jazz, new age, and lots of technopop i.e. U2, Cure, Radiohead, New Order, etc.
Infinity Kappa 9's
bdgregory, he sez they "were" ST140's or something like that.
Infinity Kappa 9's
I actually have 2 Adcom 565's running a pair of Wharfedales as we speak (have a 555II in the closet gathering dust). Someone told me that Adcoms are "bright" on Infinity's but after 10 years of Field Artillery in the US Army, I usually have to boo...
Infinity Kappa 9's
sorry about that. I have $1,600 right now to spare.
What's your profession? Age?
Heavy duty recovery specialist...translation I operate a very large tow truck to handle 18 wheelers and the sort. 40 years old. On my 4th setup that worth probably about 5K.
Radiohead, Night 2 Toronto
Big Radiohead fan but never seen them in concert. Being a 40 years young BM I probably would'nt fit into the crowd (like I would care :-), plus no one like that comes this far south .
Most achingly-beautiful music
Ravel's Bolero, Quincy Jones Walking in Space, Pink Floyd's Grandchester Meadows, Wynton Marsalis the Death of Jazz, and New Orders Touched by the hand of God.
San Antonio, TX
Just ran across this post. I am in S.A. from Detroit and I thought no one here with the exception of a few Bjorners have any interest in audio at all. Glad I was wrong.
Starting a high-end audio shop... Am I crazy?
I'd say yes, you are crazy! But I would go for it. Lifes and adventure.
Cars. What does the typical audiophile drive?
2002 Ford Crown Victoria with all the bells and whistles, aka "dollar bill", (its green) is my daily load.1972 Duster is my goof off car.1964 Dodge 330 Max Wedge if cost is no option :-)
Best female vocals on CD
Here's a swing, Kathleen Battle or Bjork. (I LOVE her voice)
The best speaker you ever heard?
All I rember is they were Martin Logans being pushed by McIntosh hardware and they were big. Playing "the seduction of Claude DeBussy" probably did'nt hurt my opinion either.
