Move from Parasound A23 to A21/A21+ or Something Else? @jdub39, that is what I am expecting. I am guessing the amp will smooth out as it gets some hours on it. I'm going to give it plenty of time before I make any judgements. Thus far, it has some promising qualities.
Move from Parasound A23 to A21/A21+ or Something Else? Decided to go with the JC5. Just got it and am breaking it in. Will see how it develops. At first pass it appears to have more resolution over the A23 and sounds more realistic on live recordings. The sound is more forward as well and has some gra...
DAC recommendation in 5 to 10K range Chord Hugo TT2 is a good one in that range. Great headphone amp too. Might be able to score with m scaler for around $10k but I think Chord might have just bumped prices up.
UE Megaboom 3, JBL Flip 5, JBL Charge 3 or SRS XB2?! Might want to try Reddit or some place like that. This forum isn’t really the place for this type of gear.
Focal Sopra, Kanta, Aria And Sonus Faber is made in Italy. Is French labor worth so much more than Italian labor? I love Focals and own Kantas but the price increases are insane on the Sopra line to the point that I won’t likely be moving up since it costs twice as much t...
Audiophile Speakers for Rock, HipHop and Techno @gavman, loudness is endemic in this type of music. I listen to both regularly. Are you perhaps mistaking the meaning of dynamics? A lot of this stuff is mastered for cars and ear buds. Look at the waveforms and you will see there is compression w...
Audiophile Speakers for Rock, HipHop and Techno @tmac1700, to answer your question. Yes ATC perform well at low volume. The way I would describe their house sound is clean, clear and effortless. If you can swing towers the scm40 is an awesome speaker. They sound nothing like Sonus Faber by the ...
Audiophile Speakers for Rock, HipHop and Techno +1 on @soix comment on ATC drivers. Their motor structures are super overbuilt. They sound clear at crazy volume levels.
Audiophile Speakers for Rock, HipHop and Techno What about the speakers you demoed is not doing it for you in those genres? Might help with giving recommendations. Hip hop and techno are usually compressed and not super dynamic but have lots of mid bass so most standmounts aren’t up to it unles...
Hear me out ;-) Moving from Integrated Tube Amp to a Class D You want to play music even after you’ve fallen asleep and thus leave it on all night while running subs in an apartment? Wow…if you were my neighbor…let’s just say it’s good we’re not :). Might I suggest headphones for the sake of those around yo...
KEF celebrates sixty years with the LS60 Wireless +1 on reliability concerns of electronics. Would have been much more excited by a passive version.
Honest Experience on Effects of Subwoofer Please I’ve found it depends on the room and the system. I’ve had set ups that no matter what I did I couldn’t get the sub dialed in and integrated correctly; the whole experience was frustrating. It either added no bass or you could totally hear the sub...
Those that upgraded from Tekton I’ve heard the Salk Song3 BeATs and Tekton DIs back to back at an event. I thought the Salks were more refined and would have taken them over the Tektons.
Large room with low budget for speakers Something has to be off about the room, like you are sitting in a null considering your comment about the need for more bass. Have you taken any measurements at your listening position? Have you played around with speaker/sub placement or shifting...
Speaker Questions Just go with the Polks; the S series sounds fine. From what I can gather, you are trying to build out a multi channel system and the Polks with be just fine for that. At under a grand with the need for white and visually appealing there won’t be a... |
