Northern California Sorry, but I am stuck where I am. As it stands, I have no neighbors. I think I could crank it to 120db outside my house and not get any complaints from neighbors...
Northern California Hey, you can email me at mike@poindexter.cc and let me know when you are coming down. I have a fairly decent set-up with the IRS V as the mains in my home theater, IRS Betas as rears and IRS Gamma for center. If that isn't enough bass for T-Rex, I...
Home Theatre Processor reccomendation If you want the best sound for your 2 channel, you can use the Adcom GFP-750, which is about as clean as you will ever get and loop through for the surrounds. Adcom has some newer surround systems that are coming out I am anxious to hear. The engi...
Northern California Muralman,I am a little ways south of you, in Fresno, but I run Infinity IRS V and wouldn't mind knowing about future get togethers. I have open house parties for home theater every 3-4 months down here.
My wife is so uncool! My mother says every five years, she buys a new wedding ring, but keeps the husband. I suppose you could tell them that you are upgrading your system, but keeping the woman.
My wife is so uncool! My fiancee was telling me that she didn't think my speakers were big enough. At the time, I had a pair of Infinity IRS Betas. I am now running IRS V. She doesn't make that comment anymore. People tell me she was joking, but hey, I will take permis...
Have you seen HD-VHS yet? I have DVD scaled amazingly well with my HTPC. I also have HD-VHS. The HD D-Theater tapes are so much better than DVD is and are likely going to be better than HD-DVD will be because of the tape's ability to hold more information than they will ge...
WEB Ordering of Large RPTV's I bought a 64" Philips TV w/9" guns for $3200 online about 6 months ago. I couldn't be happier. The set arrived in excellent condition and the toughest part was lifting it up the steps. If you use a credit card, you are very well protected against...
How much does your system retail for? I would bet that by the time you got it all added up, the numbers for some people's systems would have changed quite a bit. I know that mine increased to $190,020 with the addition of the Odyssee 1.4XL Motion Simulator for home theater, MSRP $25K.
ButtKickers. Experience Anyone? Although in a much higher priced category, you could also check out the Odyssee Motion Simulator by D-Box Technologies. Where the butt-kickers will just shake, the Odyssee will actually move your chair and it is VERY convincing.http://www.d-box.co...
An odd idea I had the same problem that you did. I run Infinity IRS V on the front, IRS betas for surrounds and an IRS Gamma on the center. I use different amps for the front and back. The difference is sound field is VERY negligible. I could make the sound t...
Attention: Dunlavy Audio Labs out of business Actually, I made a typo. They have 2 of them, so it is one pair of the TSW5.
Attention: Dunlavy Audio Labs out of business If you are wanting them, I know where 2 pair are. Contact Widescreen Review. Although they will probably keep them for a while, at some point they will replace them.
HDTV receivers. Does it matter? I don't think that there are major differences in the picture quality of the HD boxes, but you cannot compare DirecTV's HD against Dish's HD because the differences is likely the compression from the sat company instead of the hardware. You would ...
Attention: Dunlavy Audio Labs out of business As an owner of much Infinity IRS equipment (one pair of Gammas, two pairs of Betas and a pair of IRS V) I must say that the driver issue you face isn't that dire. Still, I can at least see a bit how you might be worried. I was afraid to play my sp... |
