Green mountain audio eos hx tweeter distance question
Sure.  This hobby is a difficult one since it seems we are always looking for the next upgrade and really never 100% happy.  I've updated most of my equipment over the years except for my Pathos twin towers integrated which I've had now for a litt...
Wyred4Sound Modified Sonos
I used the modded Sonos Connect with a TG audio silver power cord and Wywires digital silver coax cable and the TG audio was plugged into a PS audio powerplant.  I even put a lead weight on the sonos as it is very light. I have to say it sounded v...
Wyred4Sound Modified Sonos
I actually purchased the sonos connect modified already by Wyred for Sound.  I don't believe they give the option to buy the connect modified all in one unit any longer as the Connect is not available for purchase.  I purchased it three years ago ...
Green mountain audio eos hx tweeter distance question
Hi Chris,Honestly as much as I liked the EOS speakers the X5's are just better in almost every way.  It's hard to compare them as the X5's are full range and go into the upper 20's in my room whereas the EOS had much more limited low bass.  I ran ...
Streamer for Metrum Onyx I2S connection
I read that the best sound quality for the Metrum was over their I2S connection so that is why I was interested in trying it out and since I'm in the market for a new streamer was just wondering if anyone had successfully used a streamer via the I...
Pure Audio Project open baffle speakers
Yes Ozzy that's what I've heard from many owners which is hard to believe as the bass is already quite good and much better than what I had previously.  It's difficult for me to play them continuously since my family doesn't like it unfortunately....
Pure Audio Project open baffle speakers
I agree with Ozzy regarding the quality of bass from the Spatial X series.  I have the X5 which has the powered 12 inch woofer rather than the 15 inch powered woofer of the X3.  My room is a difficult room for bass as it is only 11 feet wide by 24...

Spatial Audio open baffle speakers, who has them? Worthwhile change from Maggies?
I just received my X5 speakers this past Friday and have put about ten hours on them so far so I know they will sound even better with breakin. But I have to agree with others that these speakers are really special.  They have a very large soundsta...
Green mountain audio eos hx tweeter distance question
Thanks Chris.  I actually found the PDF copy in one of Roy's emails he had sent me from a few years back when I bought the speakers.I was waiting for the RX ribbon upgrade but unfortunately as you know Roy passed away.I've just ordered the new Spa...
R.I.P: Rest In Peace Roy Johnson, Green Mountain Audio's Genius
I'm in shock also at his passing.  Roy was such a great guy and I had so many conversations with him over the past fifteen years.  He would do most of the talking but I could always feel his passion and love for speaker building and always felt as...
Green Mountain Audio
Ok that's great will need to call him.  He was also working on some new tweeters for me which is great news.
Metrum Onyx versus Metrum Pavane
Ok thanks Mitch for the information, much appreciated.
Metrum Onyx versus Metrum Pavane
Mitch I'm wondering if you compared the coaxial digital input versus the I2S and if so what differences did you hear when using both of those digital connections from ambre to DAC?I know you compared aes versus I2S and mentioned I2S was slightly b...
Metrum Onyx versus Metrum Pavane
I'm using a modified Wyred for Sound Sonos Connect which only has spdif rca digital output.  I'm also using a modified cd transport with the same digital rca output connection to play cds.I know I've read the I2S is supposed to be better but was w...
