What time do you wear? hey, any recommendations for something in the $1k range? I have a small wrist and am thinking a non-leather, non-metal band, as I have a slight allergy to nickel. I was considering a Sinn 356 but want to see what fellow audiogoners have to say ;)
Tube pre-amp pop my guess would be a DC coupling capacitor has gone bad in the AR pre
Origin live Silver or VPI JMW-9 Signature What is your current tonearm?
Headphone I'm using a Singlepower PPX3 SLAM to drive my Sennheiser HD-650's and absolutely love the combination! The "hardness"/"softness" dial is used to control feedback in the amplification circuit and is nice for tweaking. I don't really buy the crossfe...
phono stage break in? Larry:I have only had the chance to compare the Ayre to the two Granite CDs. The PAD one is a bit pricey for me, and I cannot find anywhere even a "track listing" or rationale/marketing on why I should buy the PAD CD. The Ayre CD was made by Georg...
phono stage break in? I've found that the best burn-in CD is the Ayre CD using the brown-noise track. Since the brown-noise mimics the frequency distribution mimics actual music. I also use the Cardas record montly and for cartridge break-in. Both, in my opinion, are i...

Nottingham Spacedeck Set up? Cadence151:I'd recommend Sound Mind Audio here in Austin, TX, as they're great to work with and are a Nottingham dealer. If you'd like an introduction, e-mail me and I'll call them and introduce you or we could stop by together. They do excellent ...
Michell Technoarm vs Origin Live Silver vs ??? I recently purchased an OL Silver for use with my new Zyx Bloom cartridge and was blown away by how much an upgrade this was. I can definitely recommend the OL Silver for high effective mass applications (such as the Zyx). I'm hoping to put togeth...
TIME to break in a Denon 103R My Denon DL-103D took about 75 hours to fully break in after it was retipped, for what it's worth.
Stylus Force Guages - why extreme accuracy? In my opinion, you can do pretty good with a 0.01g accuracy scale from Ebay (search 0.01g scale, mine has a stainless steel platform. More exactly, mine is item #190001314544) and a little jig such as this which can be made for a few dollars. The ...
Comparions? CEC TL51XR versus Ayre CX-7e Porziob:ok, point taken. Any other (helpful) opinions?
Comparions? CEC TL51XR versus Ayre CX-7e Interesting. Has anyone else found this to be the case with CEC? Another way to ask this, is the Ayre perhaps known to border on hyper-detailed side, where the disparity between the two might be more apparenet due to this? |
