Streaming 102 I am just adding a post since i just unboxed and set up a Bluesound Node (2021 version). Perfect for desktop application. Sounds sophisticated and surprisingly clear. Now if i can get use to streaming music from BlueOS/Roon versus Tidal. A big plu...
a remarkably basic question about Roon Roon actually had/has a 90 day free trial which I just took advantage of…..
Streaming 102 Hi, I just spoke with a rep. at Crutchfield and tried to establish or determine if i use an {ethernet cable from a switch} {coming from my router} and connect the bluesound via Coax to my DAC (Pontus II) which is connected to my pre-amp as well as...
What's a guy to do but ask for directions.. Thanks for the insight, interesting how the old Marantz managed the Evokes.
To pre-amp. or not to pre-amp! Well, since George made mention of the impedance issue i now have to consider the Hegel P20, (george is not a friend of your wallet, be for warned).. However, that could be the best thing to have happened in this whole span of looking into upgradi...
Solid state amp to go with tube preamp; used ok; budget: $3k max Hegal H190 should be on your short list. That is about as high as you can go on 3,000 but i would not settle for anything less in the Hegel line and there is no need to do so. I’m shooting for the H20 power amp myself
DAC That Punches Above Its Price Point Just purchased the Denafrips Ares II, too early to give any deep insight/s but it seems to outperform my MHDT Lab Orchid, at least on some levels. Either one works pretty damn well-except I did I roll the stock chip to a Philips TDA Double Crown o...
Stuck point! Well I'll be damn, all that fuss about bass and it doesn't carry all that much weight if you have a powered sub (ex. Rel T7i).. Thanks for the update on that question, a huge help...
Stuck point! OK, great suggestions so far. I may have bit off more than i can chew but i do not regret selling the PS Audio M700's. After owning them 2 yrs. 10 months i was not going to get much back if i held onto them much longer. As far as subwoofers go i f...
Stuck point! @sebrof, what would a recommendation be in Class D-A or A/B in around the $3,000 mark? I know where a Parasound HINT 6 is for 2,000 and i have had a Parasound 5250 v2 i sold a few months back and replaced it with a NAD M28. Sound was pretty damn g...
Stuck point! @oldhvymec, I have also thought about using both valve and Class D or AB amps. and switching between them. Right not i only have the means for one or the other. So, i very well could wind up doing that just not on that timetable. I guess my bigge...
Stuck point! @mastering92, thanks for your response. I got the idea of a fan after seeing a mom pushing her stroller with a portable fan with a wrap around stem. I thought well they make them small enough to wrap or clip into a stand so why not? And since i am...
Rel T7i matching up with Monoblocks Believing it was one of the best out there, that is all they do..
Quad Tube Rolling Ok, i learned quite a bit from everyones feedback thus far. The consensus seems to be; i have already gained any audible improvement by rolling the right or "gain side" of tubes. No point in going any further with different tubes on the cathode si...
Quad Tube Rolling Sorry for the confusion. I did roll the output from 6SN7GTB (Russian) to Sylvania 5692 and noticed an improvement. Question is, would rolling the input side create an improvement as well. |
