Find a nice used Cambridge 851C  cd player. It has good dac chips in it which I believe are made by Analog Devices. The unit can be used as a preamp too, although limited for source connections. It should also have a good working remote to perform... 
Bluesound Node 2021 - adding Sub
Audiotroy, so you're saying that using a sub such as a Vandersteen sub, which connects to the amps mains, is wrong???  
DAC? how much more $$$ to get a significant improvement over Bluesound Node?
Denafrips Pontus ll dac would be a good choice.
