Oh brother, am I in desperate need of help! 8)
Did you try listening to the latest Vandersteen 2Ce's with new drivers and crossovers? Never was into Vandersteen in the past, but the newest incarnations at any price point really blew me away. extremely musical and dynamic. IMO

Yeah. You're a little late. This thread went down the toilet awhile ago....
$16K new/used speaker question?
Was just wondering why you are limiting choices to 90db or higher efficiency and 8 Ohm load. Unless you find speakers which are horribly inefficient or some ridiculously low impedance, most speakers will do your equipment no harm. I second the Van...

Mish. Don't ride on the coat-tails of another poster you think agrees with you. You buried yourself (as you usually do) in this thread a long time ago by telling the OP Klipsch sucks, and that his writing is foolish. You really didn't have anythin...

Tomtab.  Had I forseen what my comment was about to unearth, I probably would have kept my mouth shut. I apologize....

C'mon Mish, you're taking yourself way too seriously. Could it be this fellow found something in this hobby that really got him going? Something really exciting that made him exclaim? Who are you, me, or whoever be the ones to tell him he's wrong ...

Headphone question
I see a lot of recommendation for Sennheiser of which I agree. I have the HD-598 model. A over the ear model which is somewhat open backed and very light and comfortable. These have a sound very similar to the HD-600's (which I think is very good)...
Legacy, local news artiicle.
Great article! I had owned Legacy speakers for 21 years and absolutely loved them. I used to go down to Springfield somewhat regularly and visit Legacy. Although I haven't  been there in several years I kinda got to know Bill on a personal basis. ...
Tubes for Rogue Audio Perseus Magnum Preamplifier
Easy recommendation. Mullard 12au7's. The difference between these and the stock tubes Rogue uses isn't subtle. Check out Vintage Tube Services. They match and grade all of their NOS tubes. Not cheap at $225 per pair, but well worth the upgrade.
Rega RP8 and alternatives in $3000-4000 range
Try a Well Tempered Lab Amadeus Mk.II. Easily beat any Rega I ever owned. IMHO.
Looking for integrated better than my Rogue Sphinx
Greg and Mel. Maybe you two should take your petty differences to another forum....
B&K EX-442 Sonata Series
Assuming it's not the front rocker switch, then there might be a bigger problem. I owned a EX-442 Sonata, and twice over a period of about 3 years, several of the output transistors failed. This in turn blew out the internal rail fuses. B&K th...
