Is There An "Absolute" Best Cartridge? I was not trying to be (too)smart. Sorry if anyone is or was offended by my comments.Sometimes I just get an itch when people describe a product as "the best" and as a result I sometimes don't know when to shut up. Raul I think you are one of the ...
Is There An "Absolute" Best Cartridge? The best cart in world is the cart you own. We can all speculate about what would be theoretical the best cart in the world. But The cart in your own TT is the best one for you at that time. Because that is the cart that lets you listen to you mus...
info about 1970's leslie stereo speakers The only Leslie speaker I know is being used in a studio in combination with an organ. It is really fun to see how the horn rotates and to hear the sound change with different RPM. Still no digital synth can reproduce many of the old analog sounds.
Dynavector 20 Xl , Benz Micro Ace SL or Denon I have owned a P25 and now own a VPI Scout. On the P25 I had an Ortofon MC2 and then upgraded to a Lyra Dorian. The MC2 to Dorian was a nice upgrade. But changing to the VPI was a much bigger step. I'm not saying that you should buy a VPI.However ...
Wilson Sasha , Avalon Indra or Magico V3? I have heard both Magico and Wilson audio. Maybe the is the more neutral of the two. But I would prefer the Wilson Audio. I'm still very new to the whole audio thing and I don't like to change parts often. But I have found out that speakers that a...
Cd transport isolation Thank you for all the responce. I will first try a DIY ball bearing system. And maybe play around with different shelve materials.
Hemp Drivers, musicians lov'em, audiophiles? Audio Note also use hemp drivers.
The CD Player Lie? Tomcy6I know there are better CD players around. But they tend to cost more then a turntable of equal quality. I know someone who has a Jadis JD3 PRO drive. The Jadis costs about 7000 new, a VPI Scout with benz ACE costs 2600. The Jadis is a lit...
The CD Player Lie? Let me put it this way. I own a VPI scout with Lyra Dorian and a CEC TL51x transport with Wadia 12 DAC. If I would have spend 1000 less and on my digital source and a 1000 more on my analogue source my turntable would sound a lot better but I do...
CDP or CDP/ DAC - different question I think buying a transport and dac is not the best option. If you want to play CD's just buy a CDP. Most of the time a CDP is much more cost effective then buying seperates. Same goes for amps.If however you want to play your music from an other d...
Luxman L505u . . . why not? Last weekend I heard a Luxman L-507u paired with a D-05 CD player and DSS monitor speakers. it's difficult to judge a set you don't know. But from what I heard the amp is a really nice amp. Maybe a bit upfront but I prefer that over laidback.Don't...
CD players - Luxman vs. Esoteric? Yesterday I was a "show". Actually it was more of a group of people from a Dutch forum listening to some music. We wanted to compare some CD's to LP's. So we all brought some CD's of which we also had the LP's. Same recording offcourse. The LP's s...
Upgrading from Verity Sarastro I to II Don't buy the upgrade just buy the model speakers. Then sent your current mkI Sarastro to me. I will bake you a cake.
My findings on Magico V2.....what now? Just move on. Personally I think Soulution amps are the best money can buy. I have heard the M5 with Spectral amps and CDP but was underwhelmed. But that could just be my taste. Wilson Audio and Verity Audio are more my cup of tea.Lucky for us aud...
Ayre vith Verity? Don't know verity well enough. But I know Ayre and Sonus Faber don't match wll to my ears. I would match Ayre to a lively speakers since Ayre can be a bit laid back. Not really sure how to dicribe it.So Verity might match well as far as I have heard. |
