Tube tester...anyone own their own? Doing a little research, the Amplitrex does seem to be the easiest to use and best on the market. I’m not sure what the price is..anyone?? I wanted to buy one a few years ago and the price was close to $3K! Way out of my budget. Not sure how much...
Insurance values I'm guessing you had a replacement cost policy. Yes. I have a separate rider for my records, but the gear was part of the overall "contents".
Tube tester...anyone own their own? Where do you get a tube tester recalibrated? I've used Roger a couple of times. He does great work. Used to have a local guy, but he passed away awhile ago. http://www.alltubetesters.com/index.htm
LINN Ittok needs rewire Suggestions? I have always recommended Brit Audio. Michael does excellent work. He's here in the states too. http://www.britaudio.com/tonearm-rewire-service.html Not sure if Rick, (Audio Alternative) re-wires arms or not? He is one of the best for Linn table ...
What is the appeal of the Denon 103 cartridges? I have several versions of the DL-103. Love all of them.
Insurance values My understanding is that if your policy is for replacement value, you base the insured value on a similar item available today. I would consult your insurance broker to make sure, since that is his/her job. +1...My house got hit by a tornado i...
Tube tester...anyone own their own? I’ve had one for many years. I get it re-calibrated every so often. One of the best investments I’ve made. I have drawers full of tubes, so it comes in handy quite often...

Moving up from a Node 2i Why pay for something you'll never use. I sure if you eliminate the TEAC CD slot drive and the 1TB hard drive, it would save $300-$400 dollars...no? That would be ideal. Shouldn't be that hard to do either.
Moving up from a Node 2i I have the Node2i and use an external dac and it sounds really nice in my system. +1...same here.

New Years Resolution ....... I feel lucky that I always, well, 99.9% of the time, listen to the whole album (lp) +1 Even streaming I listen to the whole album. My take on it has always been, that the artist made and sequenced the album that way and I should listen that w...
MOFI Yes "Fragile" UD1S (One-Step, Supervinyl) So does it sound like a CD? I'm not trying to be facetious, but if it sounds anything like the recent 45RPM issue of Dire Straits' 'Making Movies', then I'll most certainly pass, because that puppy is dead on arrival: flat, congested, undynami...
Canare 4S11 I was turned on to these a few years ago by an ultra high-end speaker manufacturer friend of mine.I have used them ever since as my reference cables. They do indeed take forever to break-in, but once done, they are spectacular.
