subwoofer cables
Hi Vermonter. If the company that makes the balanced cables connecting your pre to your amps also makes an RCA sub cable, why not get that? When possible, I try to match interconnects.
I am sick of cables
After 35 years in the audio hobby, I don't know what to think about cables anymore. In 1988, I bought an 8' pair of used MIT Music Hose to drive my Spica TC50 standmounts. The Hose cost like $50 ($100 in today's money?). I still have these cables.I...
Entry Level Cables
As for a good description of speaker cable quality/characteristics, go to the Blue Jeans Cable web site. In addition to Anti Cable and Blue Jeans, you might take a look at Signal Cable and the Audio Quest T4 "No Frills" which Audio Advisor is sell...
Is there a consensus as to blu ray sound quality?
Only Blu Ray and HD-DVD (bye-bye) are encoded with lossless audio (Dolby True and DTS Master). IMHO, the sound of these lossless codecs is way better than that of SDVDs, redbook CDs and even SACD.As Ckorody wrote, audio-only BDs are coming slowly....
Best pre-amp for beginner's NAD 2200??
Hi Five.NAD 1155, if you can find a used one. This was the matching pre for the 2200 amp. See: http://www.wired4sound.net.au/systems/nad/nad.htmOtherwise, the current NAD pre, the C162.
Adding a Rotel RMB-1075
I think at its price point Rotel is hard to beat. If you want to move up what is your budget? If you can afford it, I recommend seperate boxes: a pre/pro and a matching 5 or 7 channel amp. But,there a number of avr receivers that outperform Rotel. ...
Which tweak for new amp: PC or footers?
Thanks for your responses. Think I'll get used to the amp first before I tweak anything.
bi-amping dali speakers
Hi Tim.I have a pair of Dali Ikon 6s driven by a NAD 2x 90w amp. As a replacement for the NAD, I just bought an Aragon 2 x 200w amp here on AGon. Delivery due this week.I'll let you know what the results of the power increase are on this thread.
Adding a Rotel RMB-1075
Hi PdnIf you want to stick with Rotel, I recommend the RMB 1095 (200w x 5)as you would need that much power increase over your 75w x 5 to make a real difference. Your speakers will handle 200w so long as you do not play at rediculously high volume...

Best movie for subwoofer test ?
My best pics have already been listed.Just wanted to add that for me the biggest audio difference between SDVD and BDP is bass response in Dolby True or DTD-Master.

Any cables that give more bass
Not pertinent to the OP's issue, but in electronic music the computerized synths are sometimes played with tones going down below 20Hz. You can't hear it, but with the right sub you can sure feel it!And, IMHO, it would be a sin to play Nine Inch N...
av receiver help needed
I have an Onk 805 which I love. But, when it is driving 7 speakers I seriously doubt it is at the rated 130w per channel - more like 100w (which is more than enough for my Polk M50s, M40s and CS2 center).
