Quick fuse question
@rodman99999 , I will try the AMR 6.3A and see what happens. The 5A Bussman was new and never used though. I heard good things about HI-FI Tuning, but most people seem to like the Silver Star better. Any thoughts on the differences between the 2 H...
Quick fuse question
@gs5556 Thank you for the info.@rodman99999 No the Bussman 5A was just a regular Slow-Blow 5A fuse. Not sure what brand the original MDQ5A is but it is back in the amp and works fine. So guys is it safe to say that if I put a 6.3A boutique fuse (A...
Quick fuse question
@rodman99999  they are made in China but they are they same as AMR fuses from the UK. I really don't just want to place a higher value fuse in the amp. The original MDQ 5A fuse still works fine, the 5A standard fuse was a Bussman that I had from a...
Budget Tube Preamp ($2000)
Get a ARC LS25mk1, they go for about $2400. Or look for a ARC LS15, fully balanced and only 4 tubes. I have one but upgraded to a 25mk1.The LS15 is a nice pre with good soundstage and nice tone.
Quick fuse question
@rodman99999 Yes, put the original fuse back and amp works fine
Quick fuse question
@rodman99999 , I used a Slow-Blow 5A. I turned the amp on and it went in to its normal protection mode then shut down. looked at he fuse and it was blown.
Need Tubes
@artemus_5 sorry I didn't see mkII. I still recommend Tube Depot as a good seller. I have dealt with Kevin Deal at Upscale Audio but he was very rude and very expensive for what he offers. I was dealing with another tube dealer (Darcell Tubes) in ...
furutech antistat 3
Just get a Destat II from HiFi Heaven for about $190 shipped. I have a Destat II and it works great, had it for about 6 months now. Works much better than a Zerostat and is not hard to handle.
Need Tubes
