Moving from mm to mc
Glider is mostly considered as one of the best carts up to $1000, and if you go trough discusions, you will find many happy owners. So it might be very dependable on WHOLE sound system in use, not only raw-compatibility with table/arm/phonostage.....
Moving from mm to mc
I do not know what stuck you on Glider, but I had this cart for like two years, and after switching couple month ago to Denon DL103 I feel very sorry for it. Other than crystal clear highs Glider is lifeless compared to Denon. I could listen to my...
Are there any constants in speaker wire designs?
Elizabeth, that is untrue. Van den Hul The THIRD speaker cable conductor is made purely form Carbon fibre, and thats not metal. While speaker cable designs can possibly be RANDOM, I believe in these constants that fit my taste and system: separated...
Kimber Select IC's
hey guys what were you smoking? :) KCAG is more "silvery", resolving, detailed, etc. sometimes can be little bit edgy.. but SELECT line is different game, 1030s opens up details while being totally silky smooth. It is no way possible of harshness ...

I have just bought a Nitty Gritty Model 2, and thinking the same way getting spin clean, and use NG only for final stage - put a finishing touch a more or less clean LP and dryieng it. >I also have one and like the way it cleans.I also use a &g...
Has anyone tried the Shunyata Diamondback PC?
Dear Grant of Shunyata Research, It is very nice to have a manufacturer in the discussion. I am from europe, and the Diamondback PC I have evaluated was without advertised IEC and AC custom molded connectors - I assume the molding machine at your ...
Has anyone tried the Shunyata Diamondback PC?
>Currently breaking-in 3 Shunyata power cords,So you already bought them. I would have took two different cords for the same price $375, one more expensive than the other, more like $150 and $225, and trieng them in different locations, on amps...
Helix Alpha Python compared to Black Mamba CX
The rule number 1 is mentioned by Slaw - YOU have to make the comparison - and it all depends on your TASTE and your SYSTEM.But who said you can not use experience of other members..?Just yesterday I did a shout-out of 5 power cables, coincidence ...
Benz LP cartridge distortion - any advise?
Don C55,I do not know how many cartridges you have had, but heres how you end up with one having 100 hours. You buy new, and run 40 hours break-in, since all carts sound awfully different, in next 50 hours you realise that it is not your cup of te...
Benz LP cartridge distortion - any advise?
Woodvale,I have encountered recently the similar issue - "unpleasant amount distortion and sibilance heard on vocals" -though, in different system (Rega P25 table, RB600 arm, Denon Dl-103 cartridge).Went down googling last night, and found a discu...
Kimber silver KCAG and directionality
I found suggestion in other topic by member Rrog. It makes sense. I have had Kimber KCAG in the past as well, and also was in search for help about directionality, i think the correct answer is somewhere deep in the discusions on audioasylum forum...
Anyone heard the Nordost Odin cables ?
hey, i thought i will put my subjective point to Odin. I have heard them in nordost presentation here in europe. The systema was Focal Utopias, Ayre electronics (not MX-R, KX-R combo but level below) and esoteric dac+transport. The Nordost guy, wan...
has anyone compared Nordost Frey ICs vs Valkyrja
Mjmch2003, just do not forget you are dealing here not only heimdall vs frey differences, but XLR vs RCA. I have never heard anyone saying that RCA's better than XLR (in good equipment, I mean true-XLR equipment).. everyone is talking about XLR ca...
when are you done comparing IC's
I have evaluated dozen of interconnects, and the cables that really stands out by big margin from the rest were Kimber KS1030 ($1800/1m), Nordost Heimdall ($669/1m) and Nordost Frey ($999/1m). Not the most serious high-end, rahther not overpriced ...
Recommend me a quality power cord extender?
Audioquest Power strip is the answer for you. I am using it. Everything is perfect about it exept the fact that you can plug in only two "audiophile grade" connectors, not three. (it fits three "stock" cords, though)
