McIntosh -- good for show, not for sound, says dealer
As far as the guy in the YouTube video from the OP's post...to each his own. I've heard Mac on a number of occasions and they sound stellar to me. Maybe not his taste...but mine for sure. Easy to listen to, engaging and effortless sound. I've hear...
Anthem: Doing the HT / 2 Channel Tango
Thanks for sharing your experiences. The Anthem mrx540 sounds like it may be the ticket to a good 3.0 system. I can’t seem to get beyond a 2 channel system for HT because I’ve never been happy with AVR’s sound quality. My 10 year old Rega Mira3 so...
Best cheap integrated amp
Thanks for all the suggestions. Since posting this I picked up a Rega Mira 3 to use with my Schiit Modi3 DAC and recently aquired Dynaudio Emit10 monitor speakers. For fun a picked up a Yamaha rxv681 AVR to concider. The Rega sounds better but Yam...
Klipsch center channel to compliment Forte I
Thanks Teeter. I moved the Klipsch out, mostly because of size and put my Seas Froy Mk3 kit from Madisound back in. Not as efficient but a warmer more listenable midrange. So I'll have to find a similar center which will be unlikely, so I’ll have ...
Klipsch center channel to compliment Forte I
That surely looks like a nice one but I’m no where near that kind of money. A RP-504c or R-34c might be a possibility, but I’m sure doesn’t sound as good.
No more Zu Dirty Weekends replacement suggestions
It seems like rap is an odd genre of music to sound good w/ Zu speakers but may be wrong. I would think that a speakers w/ a more authoritative dynamic bass would be a better choice.
What is the best HEAVY METAL speaker?
I was cranking out Albert King w/ Stevie Ray Vaughan "IN SESSION" today at party volumes on my Klipsch Forte powered by a 40 watt tube amp and getting down with it.
What is the best HEAVY METAL speaker?
Cerwin Vega speakers and heavy metal may be the perfect match.
Dynaudio Emit 10 vs. Evoke 10
I’ve read the Evoke 20 is a step up from the Emit with a smoother response. Some reviewers have made this there go to bookshelf speakers. I have the first generation Emit 10 which I like because of the exposed driver fasteners vs. the later versio...
Dynaudio Emit 10 vs. Evoke 10
Thank freediver for that info. The bass has nice punch but could be a little deeper and tighter, and the bass is a little softer as compared to the highs. The midrange a little recessed with vocals. Generally they seem a bit closed in and boxy, bu...
Klipsch Forte ii too bright, or is it my room ?
I read many folks recommending tube amps w/ the OPs Fortes. I've used a modern tube amp w/ my Forte I speakers and it's not a magic bullet for Klipsch Heritage loudspeakers. It can still sound bright because of the extra air and spaciousness from ...
Dynaudio Emit 10 vs. Evoke 10
That is an option. I was trying to get feedback from owners before going to the trouble and possible return. It's there if I need it.
Dynaudio Emit 10 vs. Evoke 10
Room is very small 9' x 13', and speakers are respectable 12" from wall so I'm sitting 6' away in midfield. Amp tubes are not stock. What I'm inquiring about is the difference between the two speakers if you've heard them to enlighten me. A plus w...
Klipsch Forte ii too bright, or is it my room ?
I disagree Corelli. It's about the synergy between equipment and balancing your system to your room acoustics.
Klipsch Forte ii too bright, or is it my room ?
I have Forte I speakers in stock form and they need careful amp/ room matching to not sound bright. They sound best when I can sit at least 9' away. At around 6' the horns don't seem to develop and sound bright.A lively room w/ lots of reflections ...
